Title: Flying the nitro 25/06/18
Post by: Asid on June 25, 2018, 08:33:13 PM
I managed to do a few test flights on my Compass 3D+ today. Its a 50 sized nitro helicopter

Blades Compass Carbon 620mm
Tail blades: KBDD
Engine: Os50 Hyper
Plug: OS8
Fuel: Model Techics Coptermix 20%
Exhaust: GP Exhaust.
Flybarless unit: HC3SX

This heli had an "arrival" with terra firma about....maybe 18 months ago. Broke blades, skids, servo tray, boom. I finally sat down and finished the repair.

It was a great day for a maiden. 26 degress. Light wind. I managed to tune the engine and set the throttle hold position.

I had 5 flights of 10 minutes each.

Awesome fun. I have been flying electric for so long...I missed the nitro. The exhaust smoke alone is worth the extra work  :winner

A quick pic

From left to right: Blade MCPX, Trex 450 (originally SEV2), Compass Atom 500, Compass 3D Plus.

The Trex 450 is the "beater" it just keeps on going..... :Hammer.

The Compass 3D Plus is the 50 sized nitro machine. Each blade is 615mm in length

I have a few other machines. Even a Trex 700 Gasser (2 stroke mix) with each blade at 710 mm.
