Hi,
I recently purchased Scourge of war Waterloo and all the other versions in the steam sale. A friend and I would like to play online vs each other and one day take part in some of your games but we can't seem to find each other's servers when we create one.
I'm something of a luddite so can anyone give/point me in the direction of a guide for how to make multiplayer work?

We use to play directly via IP. We dont use the ingame lobby.
One player, preferably the one with the best web-connection and hardware, will be hosting the game. He provides the others with his IP adress and the server port dedicated for the SoW client (usually 31791). The IP adress can be found out using web services like find/show my IP or many others (ask google or other web-search-engines).
The other player(s) join the host-room, after the host has created it.
1. Click Mulitiplayer from the Main Menu.
2. Type in player-name. Dont know if an accout has to be created for this kind of MP, but you could easily do that here in the MP menu.
3. Hosting player clicks the "host" button and then finds himself in his Hosting-Room.
4. All other players fill in the hostīs exact IP-adress and the server port under "Connect direct to an IP Adress".
5. Then these players click the button "join".
6. After a short while all participants should appear in the player list and the game can be setup by the hosting player.
7. After setting up the desired parametres the host can start the game by clicking "Launch".
