Title: TACVIEW RTT not working for remote connections
Post by: ozdeadmeat on August 30, 2018, 03:52:10 PM
I cant get remote people to connect to TACview. We are all running TACVIEW Advanced, (including the Server). We  can load it and connect perfectly fine local to the server but when we attempt to connect from another PC either in the same LAN (Subnet) or over the internet it reports a failed connection. We have validated the ports are correctly forward utilizing TELNET.

Any help would be appreciated.

We are running 1.7.2 all around.

Indeed, I believe that I have broken something related to the handshake when working on the network code in Tacview 1.7.2.

I will fix that as soon as possible next week.

Any news about the real time feature?
We're now going to build up a new training server for our squadron and we can't get real time connection working. We're now using 1.7.6 on server and client and the output is always "waiting for <serveraddress>"

Thanks ( the RTT port is open, client can communicate with the server on that port etc... )

This is strange, I remember having fixed the connectivity bug in Tacview 1.7.3...

Can you share me your dcs.log files from the host?

I will try next week to reproduce the issue and see how this could fail.

I have double checked and I was able to connect Tacview real-time telemetry and even a remote control to a DCS World host on the same LAN.

Is it possible that you server was still running with the old telemetry recorder the last time you have noticed the issue?
