Hi Ron,
Any idea when you will release v1.10 ?
Kind regards

Its a good question, and one that has been on my mind recently. As you know, I have ben focusing on building battles. The new ones already built are 34, 83, 84, and 85. Scenario 86 and 87 are partially built, and will be ready in about 2 weeks. By summer, I also hope to finish scenarios 89, 90 and 92-94. That would be 85 complete out of 102.
I have also been modifying other scenarios based on comments received via email.
I am thinking two releases this year, one in summer and one in November for Christmas. The summer one will be all battles, and the November will be either all battles or all software enhancements. This is the most efficient way of finishing the game out.
If the November one is all new scenarios, then I might be able to get all 102 done. Then I can focus exclusively on making enhancements to the game.
As always, I would like to hear from the community. What is your preference?
Thanks,
Ron

Hi Ron,
If you ask me I would rather go along with enhancements & new scenarios even if that puts some new scenarios off.
Reason is that it will be easier to check how those enhancements work and refine them all the way forward. I also think that some scenarios will be far more realistic with those enhancements. It may also ease the tricky bug question if you have the enhancements done prior to all the scenarios finalized.

I second the idea of doing enhancements first. That will get the bugs out of the system while we are still playing. There is a plus side for getting the enhancements done is that when the campaign games come out, the players can go straight to them instead of stopping and starting over if the enhancement changes things.
-
Given the choice I'd like to see the enhancements done first as well.

I would say scenarios first. Letīs finish the game (all scenarios) and work on enhancements / fixes later.

Enhancements first...

I would prefer the enhancements first.
The reason is that the enhancements can be used by all players in all available scenarios as soon as possible. This shows the game engine in the best possible light. :thumbsup

a) Both
b) Just happy it's still being worked on
c) Scenario Editor
d) All of the above.
(+1 Enhancements)

Enhancements first...

I too would like to see enhancements prioritized over new scenarios. There are already plenty of good scenarios to choose from...

Hi Ron,
I know you are working on a summer release. Would it be possible to have something earlier ?
As a matter of fact I am suggesting that even if there are no additional new scenarios in this sort of spring release yet we could count on some little improvements. In particular I suggest:
- Add German artillery units fortified in ports for the 1944 West scenarios
- Add some few replacements to the existing scenarios. Some few replacements for the non German units.
- Some missing units like Roumanian and other Axis air units in the East scenarios.
- Some fewer attacks in some scenarios.
- Some limitations to the air supply.
Those enhancements would not take long to implement and would enable more playability on the already existing scenarios. So our wait would be a little eased !

Hi Schwerpunkt Valencia,
I can make changes to text files that create the scenarios without sacrificing efficiency for battle building for v1.10. Please send me an email with your proposed changes.
For the things you listed, only the last one requires code changes. Limiting air supply will need to wait for v1.11 where I focus on code changes that bring improvement.
Thanks,
Ron

Hi Ron,
I have emailed you some of the suggestions.

Got them, and they look good. I can make these as part of v1.10, as they are text file changes only
Thanks again, Ron

Hi Ron,
Any update on the text file changes ?

Text file changes that you supplied will be included in v1.10, which is planned for late June.

Hi Ron,
I've been playing several scenarios and compiled a list of minor bugs / need of enhancements. I believe all of them can easily be fixed on the text files.
Instead of posting them one by one as there are many little items I can email you the full list. Let me know if you wish that per private email or here.
Kind regards

Hi Ron,
I emailed you some little discrepancies and enhancements that can be done on the text files -I believe they do not need any additional code-
Would it be possible to get some done before you release v.1.11 ? Otherwise some of the scenarios are quite unplayable.
Thanks in advance.
As I mentioned before I could update some of the text files if you send them over.

Yes, I got your email and I am sure several of them will be input as part of v1.0.11. I, of course, would contest the "unplayable" comment, since I have played every scenario that has been released!
Thanks for your hard work,
Ron

Hi Ron,
Perhaps my wording was not the best... By "unplayable" I meant very unbalanced.
I was hoping you could produce some of those changes before you release v.1.11 in Xmas. Let's wait then.

Hi Ron,
Just to know where are you in the development with v1.11. Heard you were planning to release it before Xmas. if so it will be a nice Christmas present !

Hello,
I am continuing to work on v1.0.11. I have added:
1. Added text to the Help section 5.0 stating units are eliminated when combat losses are >= DF.
2. Hex coordinates now stay enabled unless reset from the Windows menu
3. Enemy ZOC exerts a +1 move penalty (it was +2 in some move cases)
4. Added an artillery advantage for both attack and defense of +2. Similar to air and mech advantage.
Completed new scenarios 89 and 90. Total is now 82 out of 102 planned scenarios. My next enhancement is a hot key that causes the last report to be displayed.
I am looking at the week between Christmas and New Year for release.
Hope everyone is doing well,
Ron

I know it's mostly cosmetic, but thanks so much for keeping the hex coordinates on.
It's an immersive wargame map thing for me!

Thanks for the update Ron :thumbsup
