Post by: Don_prince on October 21, 2016, 08:23:14 PM
Arma 3 Unsung

REBUILDING VIETNAM
Welcome to Nam soldier! You’ll soon be stalking Charlie in the thick jungles of Vietnam, your CAR-15 in hand, wondering whether he’s above, below or behind you. Watch out for traps, snipers up in the trees, or spider-holes and tunnels while securing villages to win Hearts and Minds. Fly long range bombing and CAS missions from the Gulf of Tonkin. Target the NVA SAM batteries from afar, or deliver napalm into the treeline to support your hard-pressed comrades.

The Unsung team, working on an authentic Vietnam-era mod pack since OFP brings you realistic jungle fighting, hand-to-hand combat and fully 3-dimensional warfare in this immersive mod pack for Arma 3.

This MOD is ported from ArmA 2 loved it then but I'm disappointed by the fact that it needs the DLC Apex for me to use it. This is because the MOD uses the trees and vegetation used by Apex.

So it may be a long time before this MOD is used in our collection, who knows it may come down in price after the Tank DLC

I played it a little Friday night. As one would expect it isnt as polished as the rest of ARMA3 mainly in regards to the vehicles & most of the weapons but I still enjoyed it greatly.

The thick vegetation & ambient forest sounds really do a great job in increasing the immersion.

It's the biggest issue when porting from ArmA 2 to ArmA 3 you only have to look at the CUP Mod and compare the Sep from RHS to the Sep in CUP.

I fiddled with it some Sunday morning & could not figure out how to take a screen shot. I tried F12 but it wasnt putting them in a my Steam screenshot gallery & I tried printscreen but couldnt find them anywhere in the Arma folder?

Here is an image I found to show how dense it is. From playing I can tell you that you can almost step on the VC before you see them. Much as the stories I heard from those that did serve there.

I thought this was pretty cool. I always enjoy machinima though.
