Title: Who is behind Tacview?
Post by: Vyrtuoz on May 27, 2016, 03:09:36 PM
Hello!

My name is Frantz, I am an independent developer (aka indie), and the sole creator and developer of Tacview.

Tacview story begins in 2006. Like many of you I was, and am, passionate about aeronautics in general and air combat simulation in particular. At that time, I was doing a lot of flying with Lock On: Modern Air Combat which later turned into the DCS World many of you know.

While it was a great flight simulator, I found myself wishing for the replay function (aka Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation) of F-22 ADF, also available in Chuck Yeager's Air Combat and Falcon 4.0.

I began to create a prototype, just for fun. A few months later, the first public release of Tacview was so successful, that I decided to expand it to other flight simulators and even real-life flight data analysis.

In 2014 I took a sabbatical from my day job as a software architect in order to work on Tacview full-time and I haven’t looked back since. Now, I’m doing my best to make it the debriefing tool of your dreams!

Want to know more about me and how Tacview is developed? Feel free to listen to my interview on the excellent Dojo channel!
