Ready for any challenge.

Belonging to the MD 500 series, the MD 530F is a five-place, single-engine, multipurpose helicopter with a fully-articulated five-blade main rotor system, and a two-blade tail rotor for anti-torque. The teardrop-shaped, aerodynamically efficient fuselage features an unobstructed forward 160-degree vertical and 220-degree horizontal cockpit field of view.

Equipped with a 650 shp Rolls-Royce Model 250-C30 turboshaft engine, the MD 530F is extremely effective in hot-day and high-altitude operation.

It's typical mission profile includes executive and personnel transport, air medical services, airborne law enforcement, along with many other operations where it's class-leading performance is a required asset.

Maximum speed: 152 knots (175 mph, 282 km/h)

Cruise speed: 125 knots (144 mph, 232 km/h)

Range: 375 mi (605 km)

Service ceiling: 16,000 ft (4,875 m)

Rate of climb: 1,700 ft/min (8.6 m/s)

(Reuters) - Images from a powerful new telescope installed on top of a volcano in Hawaii show the surface of the sun in the closest detail yet, revealing features as small as 30km (18 miles) across.

They were captured by the National Science Foundations (NSF) Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope, which sits at around 10,000 feet (3000 metres) above sea level near the summit of Haleakala volcano in Maui, Hawaii.

The telescope, which features the worlds largest solar 4-meter (13 feet) mirror, could enable a greater understanding of the Sun and its impact on our planet, according to the National Solar Observatory, a public research institute headquartered in Boulder, Colorado.

A pattern of turbulent, boiling gas is shown covering the sun, which is come 93 million miles from Earth.

George III may never have left the south of England or fought on a battlefield, but he explored the world through a vast collection of military maps that are now being made available online, offering extraordinary insight into the art of warfare and mapping.

Highlights include two-metre-wide maps of the American War of Independence. Known as the king who lost America, George followed the steady erosion of his hold on American colonies from the comfort of his library at Buckingham House, now Buckingham Palace.


These huge maps were probably hung on purpose-built mahogany stands, as the king took close interest in every detail, down to how many blankets were required by the British forces.
