Title: Hosting an online debriefing
Post by: Hammer on May 13, 2020, 01:45:55 AM
Are there any instructions on how to do this?  I have looked here and at the website and not found anything.

We are connected now with trial and error - is it correct that EVERYONE must have the file loaded before connection?  The data does not get sync'ed from the host?

Thx.

Hi, here are some step-by-step instructions on how to perform an online debriefing: https://tacview.fandom.com/wiki/Online_Debriefing (https://tacview.fandom.com/wiki/Online_Debriefing)

Yes everyone has to have the same .acmi file open.  :)

Very nice, thank you.  We figured out all of that last night anyways (we did not give up).  It seems there should be something along these lines from the official developer, but we could not find anything.

One thing we did discover is that we do NOT need the exact same acmi file open, but they do need to be from the same session.  Each client was able to open their own acmi file from the flight session and it worked fine, even though each of the three of us ended our session (and therefore acmi files) at different times.  We discovered that the online debrief session would end for you if your file ended although you remained connected to the session.  If the hosts file ended first, the debriefing stopped there even if you had more session time in your file.

Needing to have the exact same acmi file for each client is definitely cumbersome and we are glad it is not needed, although of course the files do need to be from the same session and include the "action" one wishes to analyze/debrief.

Yes I stand corrected, every participant can open their own .acmi file which they recorded during the same session.  :thumbsup
