Tacview 1.8.0 is now available to everyone!

Download: HERE
  • Release Date: Fri, 6 Sep 2019
  • Operating System: Windows 32-bit / 64-bit
  • File Size: 293.0 MB

This year, I worked closely with military partners to improve Tacview for real-life playback and debriefing. Most of these improvements are also relevant to flight simulators and are now available to everyone in this brand-new release.

This includes better support for small and big screens, more UI modularity, the possibility to display local time (at last ;)), as well as a new tool to measure distance between the selected object and any other object or even a point on the ground.

I have also been working hard to improve performance, notably the loading speed of custom textures (such as maps, satellite imagery).

Thanks to the help of my partner BuzyBee, numerous airports and maps are now included in Tacview distribution, Tacview database has been greatly extended, and many 3D models have been integrated. This simplifies the installation process by reducing the need to download and manually install add-ons and asset packs for debriefings.

Right now, I am focusing more on Tacview 2.0. So, if you feed a slow down in Tacview 1.x dev, this means that...

SKIRMISH RULES FOR SWORD SHIELD BOW SPEAR CATAPULT CAVALRY GAMES by Mark Ainsworth ref140867
----------------
These rules have NO! record keeping, any effects are to push back, Kill, or knock over(unconscious) units. there meant to be simple but be able to simulate many things.
----------------
There are two catagories of units, Combat units & Leaders, you can have any type of unit in the combat catagory, but you can only have a foot or cavalry unit in the Leaders catagory(leaders cant use ranged weapons).
------------------
a cobat unit attacks with a D10, you can add more d10s to the attack for certain things, but you only choose one for the combat effect, so if you rolled 3 D10s because your on a hill and are elite, then you roll 3 d10s and choose witch one to use.
--------------------
each d10 combat roll has a differrent effect,
------------------
1 defender falls down unconscious
2 your repled back 1 inch
3 your repled back 12 inch's
4 Attacker killed
5 you remain locked in Melee, you may continue turn, or reattack
6 you remain locked in Melee, you may continue turn, or reattack
7 defender pushed back 1 inch
8 defender pushed back 12 inch's
9 defender killed

The D-Day German book: what an Allied commander needs to fear
September 6, 2019 | Paolo Paglianti

The Late War books are a welcomed breath of fresh air after a couple of years of V4 Mid War. As we already noted, a new balance in the point system with tanks costing a third of what they used to in Desert and Russian 1943 fronts is really changing the meta game and the armies were going to field.

Traditionally, I play only with Allied armies. I began with the British 8th army and added some US troops to use as an ally in my fight against the Mid war Axis. So I naturally moved on to Late war sticking to Allied, adding some new troops to my existing pool of units.

I already discussed the list Im going to use in the next games and tournaments: it will be a Churchill Company with two Churchill platoons, two Shermans + Firefly platoons, a single Stuart to boost the Company morale and avoid a collapse in case the opponent kills too many tanks. As Support, Ill use the unstoppable M10 Achilles, some Priest to deliver Artillery barrages where it hurts more, an infantry platoon to assault or defend an objective, and some Bofors the best AA unit in the game, in my opinion, and now really useful considering...
