I voted for number 3. It is very atmospheric.

It does remind me of other war games menu screens. You could have a slideshow to change the background every time it is accessed. Even allow players to use their own images.

I really like them all, but I agree that #3 jumped out at me. The graphic designer's personal preference I think was #2. Asid, that is an interesting suggestion with the changing background at the opening...we will strongly consider that. Allowing users to change the pic sounds like a good idea too.

I never asked the graphic designer exactly what it was, but I thought it was a bombed out house. Overall, I thought the visual was very eye-catching. We have discussed the possibility of having various different pics for the opening screen, so your idea is right in line with our thought process.

I think the same style picture with a tank or grunt would be cool!

Agreed!! :) We will probably consider a number of different options, however a large part of that depends on the graphic designer.

If number 3 is chosen then a folder can be created which would hold different images. This way they can change randomly. This will also allow users to easily mod the background.

The images would all be based on the subject matter.
