SITUATION:

Enemy:

   - Saddam Hussein's scattered troops in the gorge, the only route to Alpha Base, continue to resist.
   Infantry with small arms and RPG, infantry with ATGM, several armored personnel carriers, several tanks.

Own:

   - You, one of the supply companies, must safely carry at least one of the four supply trucks to the Alpha base so that units of the 3rd Armored Division can continue their rapid breakthrough to the strategically important Basra—Baghdad highway.

MISSION:

   Make your way to Alpha Base through the gorge with at least one supply truck.

The plan

Initial resistance is quickly destroyed

An attempt by the enemy to ambush us fails

We continue forward, but our 25mm HE rounds are proving to be inadequate against enemy troops that are in buildings and trenches

We are eventually trapped, and our losses increase

We are defeated. Advancing through the hills on either side of the road was an option, but the unarmored trucks would still have been exposed to fire from enemy troops, and all of our units would have been at increased risk of exposure as they crossed over the crests of the hills.
