I. Situation: A reinforced enemy mechanized infantry company has established a defense-in-depth along the river. They are composed of 3x PLT of BMP2's and infantry, with tank support consisting of 2x Platoons of T-72B3 tanks.

II. MISSION: Attack to seize OBJ BEAR so that friendly forces can continue offensive operations to the north

My plan

Enjoying the heat blur effect

I clear out the initial resistance, and move infantry through the forest

An attempt to attack from behind is defeated by me

I lose 1 PC, but I destroy 1 ATGM vehicle

But this is where my plan collapses. Oleg has hull down positions. Not only this, but the positions of the trees and village both give him cover and allow him to observe me with ease. Meanwhile, I have no terrain to make a hull down position. And his T-72B3s are more resistant to M829A3 ammunition than I anticipated.

Despite my best effort, my tanks are destroyed or disabled, and I am forced to surrender. I could have succeeded if I had chosen a different route.

Oleg:
My participation was minimal, I only controlled one tank platoon, the other not available for player control. The author made a difficult mission for the blue side, you had very little room to manoeuvre.
I am very pleased that in this version of the game the new T-72B3 tank is a worthy opponent.
I need to spend more time on tutorial missions, it took me a long time to remember how to use TIS on my tank ???.
