SITUATION:

   Enemy:

   - Russian Mechanized Infantry Regiment is making a deliberate Attack further South of the AO.

   - A supply group has been set up in support at the rear flank of the enemy Regiment.

   - A Mechanized Infantry Battalion is defending the area in order to protect the supply group and guard the flank.

   - Russian force in the AO is believed to consist of BMP3, Infantry and T-90 tanks.

   - The supply group location is reported to be within 2KM area centered at grid 970350.

   - The exact size of the defending force is unknown.


   Own:

   - 2/A Platoon Marine Force Recon has made an airborne insertion grid 965325.

   - Charlie Company, 2 Platoons M1A2 tanks, 2 Platoons LAV25 IFVs is positioned West vic 930360.


   Attachments and detachments:

   - The Recon Marines have 2X Javelin.

   - The LAV25 Infantry Platoons each have 2 Javelin teams.

   - 2 Scout platoons with HMMWVs are available M2 / MK19.

   - Combat Support platoon is available.

   - A reserve tank Platoon is available on request or in case of heavy Tank losses.


MISSION:

   - Locate and destroy Enemy supply group somewhere around grid 970350.


EXECUTION:

   2/A Force Recon:
   - Move North and establish Observation Posts to determine location and size of Enemy defensive force.
   - If able; infiltrate North across the MSR and locate the Enemy supply group.

   Charlie company:
   - Penetrate the Enemy defensive line.
   - Attack East to locate and destroy the enemy supply group.


FIRES:

   - Fire support is provided by 6 Tubes 120 mm mortar firing HE and Multi-spectral Smoke.


TIME FRAME:

   - There is no time limit.  The mission will end automatically once the objective has been completed, unless you disable it by trigger.


RESERVE:

   - If you take heavy Tank losses a reserve Tank Platoon will arrive.

   - You may call this reserve at any time using Trigger 1.


SCORING:

   - Enemy supply group destroyed = 65%

   - Tank Reinforcement platoon NOT used = 15%

   - Survival of friendly forces = 20%


Notes:

   - Weather is Overcast with heavy rain showers, forecast to improve steadily.

   - Time of Day 10:00 Local time.

   - The Air air assault by 2/A may have been detected.

   - 2/A are on 'Return Fire only' to help them remain undetected.

   - 2/A and the scout teams are equipped with JIM-LR.

   - Enemy force locations and sizes are randomized for replayability:
      - If you wish to increase or decrease the average size of the Enemy force, you can select either SMALL or LARGE, by trigger before mission start.
      - In all cases, difficulty can still vary significantly with each play through.

   - If you stray off map edges your units risk being killed by the Enemy Regiment.

   - LAV25 is represented by NZLAV.
