SITUATION:

   Terrain:

      BRIDGE1 and BRIDGE2 are critical crossing points allowing rapid movement North beyond PL FIR.

      OBJ SATURN is a small town on a key crossroads covering BRIDGE 1, Highway 7 and Highway 8.

      Weather is overcast with 5 km visibilty.


   Enemy:

      BMP2 company supported by at least a platoon of T55A are reported to be dug in defending OBJ SATURN.

      Remainder of Motor rifle battalion is deployed in hasty defense vicinity PL ASH along with mobile reserve T55A company minus.

      Combat recon patrols are expected between PL MAPLE and PL FIR.


      Expected Enemy Course of Action: If OBJ SATURN is threatened; Counter Attack with tank reserve on HW7 or HW8.


   Own:

      Your forces are fully resupplied and combat ready.

      You have at your disposal 4 M1IP and 4 M3A1.  Attached are 2 M113 infantry platoons to assist with seizing and clearing the objective.

      A reserve of 2 M1IP and 2 M3A1 is available on request (Trigger 1) , or in case of heavy losses.


MISSION:

   - Seize OBJ SATURN by H+90 in order to allow free passage North by follow on forces.

      Achieve force superiority AND friendly forces not under fire in OBJ SATURN.


EXECUTION:

   - At your discretion.


FIRE SUPPORT:

   - 6 tube 155mm off map artillery available.
      Total 720xHE 216xSMK 72xICM.

   OBJ SATURN Seized = 60%

The plan


The first serious resistance is quickly defeated

After fighting, I move forward, while Oleg deals with heavy resistance to the east


Enemies in the objective are identified, and I begin hit and run attacks



After a long time, I run towards the objective



I am running low on ammunition, and this becomes a problem, as we are counterattacked



Oleg defeats the last of the enemy tanks


After a struggle, I get a running start and escape from the anti-tank ditch


Choppers attack, but we push forward


The choppers leave, and we are victorious
