SITUATION:

visibility = 4000m +
weather = summer, clear and dry

MISSION:

Protect the battalion HQ (HQ region) and move to and occupy the enemy's HQ. The enemy HQ's exact location is not known (obviously it is located somewhere on the opposite side of the map).

***When mission begins the battalion commander (A Co) must select a starting force to deploy by selecting a trigger (do not worry, you cannot cheat, so picking more than one trigger will have no effect). The commander has 10 minutes to choose a starting force at which time the default force will automatically be deployed. You may choose to wait and recon ahead, to try to determine if the enemy has made a selection and what to counter it with.***

Triggers:

-(default)Deploy Quality(HEAVY): Deploys a small sized, high quality, heavy force as the first echelon consisting of a single tank heavy company.  The vehicle types and ammo loadouts are of the highest quality. This force is highly effective in the attack, capable of defeating lighter and lesser threats with ease but it is extremely small in size and can be overwealmed.

This is an effective, versatile force capable of defending the HQ until reinforcements arrive to compose an attack force, or this force is capable of defense with a small attack element.

This force is large and built for an overwealming attack or a good mix of forces to allow for a simultaneous defense to cover the HQ while the MBTs attack the enemy HQ.

-Deploy Quantity(LIGHT): Deploys a huge sized, low quality, light force as the first echelon consisting of one tank heavy company and two mech heavy companies, as well as a fourth company of light infantry. The vehicle types and ammo loadouts are of mediocre to low quality. This massive force is built for a mix of offense and defense until the reinforcements arrive to act as the offensive element. This force is also capable of executing an immediate spoiling or limited attack while maintaining an effective defense until reinforcements arrive, thus allowing for a transition to an overwealming all out offensive.

NOTES:

*The enemy has identical first echelon trigger choices and reinforcements but they have different vehicles and ammunition than our own
*Hold the HQ = 500 points
*Capture the enemy HQ = +500 points (get more than one vehicle on the enemy's HQ and eliminate all enemies on the HQ)
*Time limit: 90 minutes or ends immediately when HQ is lost
*Drive outside of the boundaries or off the map and you will die
*Lose the battalion commander's vehicle (A Co) and all radios will be disabled (units will not update their map positions and enemy contacts will not be displayed on the map)
*Units will repair all damage if located in HQ, no enemy forces are in HQ, and that unit does not see any enemy   
units; Once true, there is a 3:00 repair delay
*Recon units are equipped with UGVs
*An M113 OPMV (xo/A) is present in the center of the HQ region of both sides in order to provide a hint on where the HQ region is located; If you see an enemy M113 OPMV, then assault and take the ground in the vicinity for a victory!

*Corrected problem with reinforcements, messages, and raised quality of Centauro ammo to (KE) 600 RHA.
*Corrected a problem where multiple "first wave" forces could be selected.
*Added "HQ?" circle to clue both sides in on the approximate position of the enemy's HQ.
*Adjusted the "Quality (Light)" force selection to have one more tank.
*Changed BLUEFOR M1s to M1A1s

Added. When I was reading the mission briefing, I read the quoted sentence as "one platoon".

We move to face each other


The first clashes were in the south


Oleg's units are spotted in the north, as I assemble the main attack in the center


In the south, I temporarily drive away one of Oleg's tanks



My scouts in the center infiltrate further before being destroyed, which gives me assurance that I can attack in the center

In the north, Oleg is blocked by my units





My center attack suffers terrible losses, but Oleg cannot stop all of my vehicles. I get close to my objective, but I fail to find it.


I lose 2 tanks, before I destroy the Leopard 2A5A2-DK from the front, through its turret ring, but now I must search the area with only limited units, and enemy vehicles continue to surface nearby


Oleg realizes that I have a gap in the south, and runs his tanks northwest along the road to the objective, with less than 2 minutes left. If I had kept some of my reinforcements at his objective, instead of sending them in a second attack towards my objective, I could have defended against his attack. The mission gave Oleg the victory, but we both agreed that the outcome was a draw.

Yes, there was a lot of fire and shots yesterday). Big mission, very difficult to manage. We need more players! Where are you DOW tankers?
We seem to have chosen the same triggers. I lost my artillery and one helicopter at the very beginning of the game due to the penalty area. The penalty area was not marked on the map, surprise. I just wanted to hide the artillery from the enemy.
I thought that we would face in the south, I did not expect an attack in the center. I launched an attack in the north for you to send your forces from the south. Yes, in the north you stopped my attack, good defense.
I liked the fight of the M1A1 platoon against the T-72 in the forest in the south. M1 were ambushed. As a result, I only lost one T-72.
