Hm, the teams are there.
If people agree, we could repeat the battle that was interrupted and when resuming the time increase didnt work according the modified data.
Also there were technical issues, especially for Colbert with his multible personality officers ... and probably a number of frustrating combat results happened.

And of course we would change the sides.
Its not satisfying for me to create a scenario that couldnt be accomblished nicely.

What do you think?

When the 2nd phase of the battle began, I had to realize that I had to face nearly the whole allied army against my litte corps.  :dwarf
Actually I assumed that the other part of our french army was busy in fighting the dutch corps. Well, we talked about that matter in the summary and saw us confirmed in the basic knowledge that it is not only helpful to inform other generals about where a certain enemy formation is, but also where it is not. :director

When I saw dutch flags further S, I firstly assumed that it is a secondment to threaten a waypoint backwards. Then there were a number of intercepted messages, which made me suspicious and I began feeling somewhat uncomfortable. But not much later I saw my corps attacked from E all the way over to the SW by the 2 allied corps. It took like 25 minutes and my strengh was down from about 80 % to 35 %. It was a well conducted and synchronized engagement by the commanders Colbert and Asalex and planned and coordinated by CiC Neill.  :thumbsup

Although relief was coming from the french Vandamme corps at a certain point and our side managed to capture all minor waypoints and, other than the allies, also the enemy base, the higher french losses led to an allied victory. In the end I had left 1 brave battailon and a few cannons.  :beam me up

As scenario-creator, I am satisfied, because we got a kind of battle I was thinking about. Less predictable, static and symmetric. More dynamic with different variations to act.  :)

Colbert's aar

Poi... Fine

Orange story:
Prince of Orange's Low countries Corps about 12000 men with 1200 light horsemen.
Initial orders were to advance in the North towards Flanigan, but CiC change those at the very beginning for a march South, bordering Catherall forest, and to Timpko, South of WayPoint2, taking Waypoint3 if possible. A key change....
A French corps (Sandman) and General Hill (Colbert) one where facing each other on Moulin Road, but there was nobody near the chateau, a couple os skirmishers battalion deployed in the woods and another one occupied the chateau, without showing any guns or cavalry......wait and observe enemy reaction.
There was none, so keeping the main force out of sight, S of the woods, marched with one cavalry bde to take WP3. The french still ignored my force, so after the ten minutes required for taking the objetive, used the return trip to send orders for deploying the corps S/SE of WP2 and launch and attack if authorized. Also sent several fake messages about withdraw towards the moulin, knowing they would be intercepted, the CiC did the same....a small dirty trick that didn't appear to have any effect....but give us some laught....

When I had clear line of communication requested permision to attack, Neil response was clear: "you need to become Blücher tonight"....full force advance, a solid mass of three infantry brigades, one light horse bde covering each flank. The artillery follow behind, surprise was the key.
The IA did most of the work after that, with all commanders in low/medium attack, the french were totally overwhelmed, attacked from the rear with odds near the 3:1.....
Still a lot to learn about grand scale attacks, after the initial assault, brigades got intermixed and couldn't take full advantage of my numbers, but the damage was done.
In another mistake, after taking WP2, sent a bde towards the main objetive but several battalion lagged behind, and didn't get a force large enough to get the points....happily they were not needed.

Great team work, mine was the easy task, Colbert defense against to french Corps was superb and Neil cavalry screen keep the french busy and blind, not noticing the absence of almost half the allied army until too late...
