About

The goal of Pavlov’s House is to last until the defenders of Pavlov’s House are tasked with storming a key German strong-point during the Battle of Stalingrad. In the game, this is depicted by playing through a deck of cards representing elements of the German 6th Army.

Pavlov’s House was a fortified apartment building used as a strong-point by the Soviet 62nd Army during the pivotal Battle of Stalingrad in WW2. Soviet defenders – primarily from the 7th Company, 3rd Battalion, 42nd Guards Rifle Regiment of the 13th Guards Division - held out for almost two months from a constant German assault. The building’s name was drawn from Yakov Pavlov, a sergeant who led the initial storm group assault that resulted in the capture of the building from the Germans. The story of Pavlov’s House was a key piece of Soviet propaganda and was used as a symbol of the incredible resistance of Soviet forces during the Battle of Stalingrad.

The following changes are in release 1.0.1. Thanks to everyone who provided feedback. Other requested changes will hopefully go into release 1.0.2.

- Fixed the framerate to 60FPS
- Added tooltips to the first aid, food, sapper and ammo tokens
- Fixed a couple of typos in the tooltips and tutorial
- Improved a couple of the explanations in the tutorial
- A minor tidy to some of the instrumentation in the music
- Fixed a couple of unit tokens showing the incorrect cost

Thanks to everyone who has provided feedback since the Pavlov's House release. Please find the 1.0.2

changelog below.

- Added a fullscreen/windowed option (Windows only for now)
- Added some helper text for Storm Group cards and Operations cards (click on the card for the help)
- Added some helper text in the Forward Observer unit window
- Added a cancel button while supplies are being loaded onto the Volga
- Added tooltips on unit status tokens (exhausted, disrupted, etc)
- Fixed a bug where the card help wasn't appearing even if it was set to in the settings
- Fixed a bug where pressing fog of war left the card option behind at the end of the turn
- Fixed a couple of bugs where tool tips turned up on cards when they weren't visible
- Corrected the costs shown on some of the large Soviet unit images
- Made the Forward Observer fire button dependent on having at least one target set and artillery selected.

- Extended the card helper settings option to provide continual help for both cards and unit actions (now renamed Action Helper).

- Improved the text accompanying the Storm Group card to explain how the card is resolved

- Brought movement rules in line with full game rules. If a unit moves into a space occupied by another unit, the displaced unit is moved to the reserves space and can take a free move that turn. Free moves are shown next to the remaining moves at the top of the screen in brackets, and in the reserves window the unit is clearly marked as having a free move available.

- Again in line with full game rules the game ends after the final Soviet action phase (not the Wehrmacht card phase as per the previous version). Then if possible the Milk Run Storm Group will take place.

- Fixed a bug where in specific circumstances it was possible to apply reinforcements during the move phase.
