This evening's scenario by Jakmin

Basically there's an objective at Carrefour Une which give a small amounts of morale, fatigue and ammo to the British side for the entire battle.

In the last 15 minutes, that objective will give 5,000 points to the French, if held at least for ten minutes.

The winner will be the side with more points.

Rivers can be crossed only using bridges; troops must cross it in columns with "Use Roads" command. Anyway it's possible that during the firefight some troops moves very close to the bridge.

Just updated the first post with the scenario for this evening.

There will be a briefing but before the battle start.

If you have any question feel free to ask.

By the players already signed, teams will probably be:

SamuelGim   CiC
Colbert (Division commander)
Jakmin (Corps commander)

Sandman (?)
Biondo (Corps or Division commander)
Asalex (?)

Davide could play on both sides, depending who will be the attacker.

Once roles and sides are decided, I can forward a more detailed situation to the CiCs and teammates

I could command a division in Jakmin's corps. Coalition officers had language problems too, it adds to the immersion  :lol_2

From the diary of General Rowland Hill

Orders are to move south with Clinton's division, and send the Duke of Brunswick further west to bòis a trois. However, maintaining a possibly advantageous position on the crest of the main road.
The Duke of Wellington, with his vanguard, General Cole, will be in charge of garrisoning south of the fort, in particular the bridge which if crossed by enemy troops would be a real danger for the fort itself.
Things start to go wrong early in the day. When you reach the road that, according to the explorers, must have corresponded to the ridge, it is not so. The ridge is at least 200 yards further south. Which means still advancing blindly with the troops in column, and with the risk of meeting the enemy in an unfavorable position and not lined up in battle order.
And here I make the wrong decision that will affect the whole day.
Instead of maintaining a more rearward position, I try to reach that damned ridge, and as we wanted to prove, here is the cavalry of the French guard.
Now I am in trouble, my men are in column, the artillery in front, in an unfavorable position, and with the Polish lancers who, without thinking twice, are pointing straight at us.
Brunswick is already too far away, and he's the only one with any cavalry squadrons who could help me. I write both to him and to Wellington explaining the situation and I deploy my troops on the spot hoping that the French too decide to organize themselves, and thus take some precious time. From here on it is all a succession of catastrophes. The French wasted no time and with a couple of cavalry charges they reduce my gun batteries to a third. I order a retreat and take a risk as far north as possible, covered by a river to the right and on a hill that would have been a great location right away. The French parade in front of me and head west, towards Brunswick, which I understand too is already in trouble. As far as my sector is concerned, destiny is already sealed. An error of assessment is enough and all is lost. I let the French pass and try to get behind them, hoping for a decisive defense of Brunswick and holding the enemy in a vice. But Druout's guard is still fresh, combative, and above all still very much on horseback. Nothing to do, with my little artillery nothing I can do ... I understand that Wellington did not have the better, and the battle is resolved in a crushing defeat.

Instead of bypassing in the N heading to the Obj. at Carrefour Une, it probably would have been the better choice to turn S and encircle the allied Div N of the pond, as CiC Neill had requested first. When I told him, that I have a free go to the main, we sponatiously decided for the latter alternative. Unfortunatly, since one of my 2 Div under Morand and a Cav Bde was about to defeat Jakmins Div in the NE, my available forces were not enough to hold the main obj. for the required period, cos the ally elite troops near that point were able to counter enough to keep the obj. vacant.
Regarding the mentioned alternative, it seems to be obvious, that there was a good chance to have destroyed another allied Div  drowning them in the pond. But then the remaing time wouldnt have lasted to go for the main, which after all promised to receive 5000 additional victory points.  :bonaparte
But afterwards we often know better.  :teach
