Alder's Blood is a tactical-strategy with stealth-based combat, RPG elements, crafting, resources gathering and management, exploration and rich storyline. Set in a grim world, where mankind killed their God and is facing extinction.

About

▏ God is dead, and it was us - who killed him.
Without God - the world became twisted and has fallen into chaos. Malevolent essense bleeding from his dead carcass, gives birth to inhuman abominations that roam the land - hunting and devouring anything human.〞



▏ But the God’s death has also sprouted new kind of life: The Hunters.
They look like humans, but they are not. They are so much less, and so much more. The meaning of their life is to vanquish the ever growing Darkness and to protect humanity - at all cost.

▏ Each clan of Hunters has their Chief. You play as one of them. As the Chief - you manage your clan’s camping, shifts, equipment, resources, crafting, trading, travels and most important - the Hunt.



▏ Hunts are main source of field experience for Hunters under your lead, and reward for a successful Hunt - your funding. Extremely difficult and dangerous, as the spawns of Darkness takes various shapes - each one more deadlier than the other.

▏ On a Hunt, there is no place for blind bravery or brute force - those will only lead to your end. Instead, the key tactics are stealth, paying attention from where the wind blows, traps, ambushes and swift, accurate strikes. There is no room for mistakes and each - is being paid with life and blood.

▏ Only carefully threading your actions, strategies and wise management of your scarce resources - does give you a chance of survival.



Then something happened.
An old friend, but with a stranger’s face.
Blind eyes, that saw something they weren't supposed to.
Silence, replaced by whispers.
Whispers, replaced by screams.

And the curtain of this wounded world
...is about to fall.

Hey Hunters!

After a whole bunch of patches and updates - we are back! Thanks to your feedback, we are able to improve Alder's Blood everyday.

I know you're waiting for something big, that's why we've decided to share more information and details about 1.1.0 or "On the road update"

We've decided to put all 3 of the last Kickstarter stretch goals into this, one, big update. Mostly because we had our worries about balance if they would be brought into chunks. Below, we have a list of new features and changes you'll see in this update. Some are already done, some are in progress, while others are still waiting to be finished. Ok, so let's go:
•   Research wagon in the camp: This will allow you to unlock new weapons and gear at your own pace, and tied everything to the mission progression.
•   "Global traits": part of the research wagon update, they will grant bonuses similar to hunters' traits, but they are not tied to a specific hunter.
•   More optional missions: these focus on building loyalty with the factions.
•   New enemy, "Licker": vampiric type, enemy, with an ability to stun hunters with ultrasound. This one is close to being finished.


 
•   New enemy, "Whisperer": this one comes in a package with some new status effects, like Armored, Wrath, and Shielded.
•   Corruption system revamp: Corruption proved to be a controversial concept for the community, and since release, we were looking for ways to make it better. Fortunately, it needed more design work, than coding, and this update is a good time to introduce the changes. It requires a lot of rebalancing of weapons and, items, especially magic-oriented. In this iteration, hunters will be corrupted by making mistakes (getting exposed, getting hit by enemies), or by using corrupted items (cursed items and magic). These changes will also allow for a more aggressive playstyle without the need to sacrifice the hunters all the time.
•   Overwatch abilities: these will be both melee and ranged so that you can make ambushes even more fun. With the changes to the corruption system, the overwatch will have its place now.
•   "Push" and "Pull" abilities: want to pull en enemy into the trap? Or maybe kick him into overwatch ability of another hunter? That's what these abilities are for.
•   Smokescreens: a simple grenade that will spawn a terrain similar to grass that hunters can hide in.


 
There are some other, smaller changes planned, mostly UX based. We don't have a release date for this update yet, as we want to be sure, it's a good, enjoyable one. We will keep you posted on the development process. Stay tuned! :)

In the meantime, please consider wishlisting There is No Light, the project seems really promising! It's a post-apocalyptic pixel-art action-adventure set in a grim underground world. We recently came across the game on Kickstarter and immediately fell in love!
