Saab J 35J Draken for Lockheed Martin Prepar3D v4.
With authentic navigation, communication, electrical and hydraulic systems simulations, original RM6 engine sounds, brake chute, drop tanks, afterburner, etc.

This simulation of the classic Swedish jet fighter J 35J Draken is the result of over 15 years of development by Bookmark Simulations in collaboration with former Draken pilots and mechanics.

The latest version is designed exclusively for Lockheed Martin Prepar3DŽ v4 and can be purchased for €9.00 in our webshop.

The older versions for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and FSX are no longer supported but are still available in the webshop as free downloads.

This version of Draken is built exclusively for Prepar3D v4 and includes a load of new features and improvements compared to the FSX version:

Why is there a scenery installed with Draken?

The additional scenery installed with Draken contains some additional navaids that simulate tactical navigation and landing systems formerly used by the Swedish Air Force. The ground stations are also modeled in the scenery. See the Flight Manual for more information.

In what versions of Flight Simulator or Prepar3D can I install Draken?

Draken 5.0 is designed for Prepar3D v4 and will not work properly in earlier versions of Prepar3D or in any version of Microsoft Flight Simulator. You can install it in FSX with some tweaking, but it will look ugly and perform badly.

Draken 4.1 requires Microsoft Flight Simulator X SP2 or later. It can be installed in Prepar3D, but it will not work as intended and some major tweaking is needed. You are on your own there.

Draken 3.2 requires Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (FS9).

Are the weapons functional?

No, the weapons in all versions of Draken are just for show and the simulated radar has no targeting function.

There are several third party solutions for adding functional weapons to FSX and Prepar3D vehicles. You can probably modify Draken to use these add-ons, and you may also share these modifications within the limits of the EULA.

Draken 5.0.1 hotfix
November 7, 2019

A patch that will update existing installations of Draken 5.0 to version 5.0.1 can now be downloaded for free from the webshop. This is a hotfix release that corrects a few minor bugs and some mistakes in the exterior model.

The update includes the following changes:

•   Fixed errors in the FR21/FR28 communication radios
•   Remodeled and retextured RB 27 and RB 28 missiles
•   Corrected mapping of afterburner cooling intakes

The patch will not overwrite the aircraft.cfg file, so modifications you may have made there will not be affected and your saved flights can be used. The new version number will only be displayed in the Options panel.

Draken 5.0.2 update
January 1, 2020

A free update that will patch Draken 5.0 and 5.0.1 to version 5.0.2 is now available here

This is an accumulative update that will apply all changes since version 5.0.

This update will apply the following changes:

•   Control surfaces will now animate correctly in Multiplayer
•   The brake chute hatches are now always closed in Multiplayer
•   Fixed the broken function for showing the Options dialog on startup
•   The fuel system now has separate front/rear tank groups (as in the FSX version)
•   Disabled OMI marker sounds as they are not used in 35J
•   Fixed bad texture mapping on the main attitude indicator ball
•   Miscellaneous minor bugfixes and improvements under the hood

Draken 5.0.4 update

An update for Draken 5 to version 5.0.4 is now available.

This is an accumulative update that will apply all changes since version 5.0.

Changes in this version:

•   Aircraft configuration is now saved in ProgramData folder (Windows 10 fix)
•   Instrument and panel dimmer settings are now saved to configuration
•   Landing and taxi lights intensity and position adjusted
•   Turn-bank indicator needle now centers properly
•   Drop tanks are now separate tanks in the configuration
•   Drop tanks animation is now disabled for instanced aircraft in multiplayer
