How to run the modded Tornado FLIGHT.EXE
« on: June 16, 2019, 08:53:28 AM »
INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU'RE NEW TO THIS TORNADO FORUM

WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY THE COMPLETE TORNADO SIMULATION WITH THE MODDED FLIGHT.EXE
I.   An installation of Digital Integration's Tornado on your harddrive (preferably Tornado 1.0E). You can also download Tornado 1.0E from here.

II. You will need to install DosBox 0.74-2 as well.

Alternatively, a FULL Tornado 1.0E installation that doesn't require you to download and install DOSBox (because it already contains DOSBox!) is found >>>here<<<. When you click the link, you will see a warning message that says "Whoops! There was a problem with the preview. Retrying....". Just IGNORE the warning message and simply click the "Download" button to download the TORNADO.ZIP file!

III. The latest (most recent) FLIGHT.EXE on the Modding Tornado forum

IV. Modded TREE3.BIN

V.  Modded PILOTPAN.BT2

HOW TO PLAY THE COMPLETE TORNADO SIMULATION WITH THE MODDED FLIGHT.EXE

Step #1. Install Digital Integration's complete Tornado simulation onto your computer's harddisk.

Step #2. Copy that FLIGHT.EXE file into the Installed Tornado's C:\TORNADO\TORNADO\FLIGHT subfolder. Be careful to first save or rename the existing FLIGHT.EXE that is inside the FLIGHT subfolder.

Step #3. Download the modded TREE3.BIN file. As a reference, see Mod#43.

Step #4. Copy that modded TREE3.BIN file into the C:\TORNADO\TORNADO\AMP\MAP3 folder. Be careful to first save or rename the existing  TREE3.BIN.

Step #5. Download the modded PILOTPAN.BT2 file. As reference, see Mod#128.

Step #6. Copy that modded PILOTPAN.BT2 file into the Installed Tornado's C:\TORNADO\TORNADO\FLIGHT folder. Be careful to first save or rename the existing  PILOTPAN.BT2.

Step #7. Go to the most recent post in the Modding Tornado thread and download the latest FLIGHT.EXE.

Step #8. Run Tornado as normal by firing up DOSBox, mount a drive (e.g., C drive) by pointing it to C:\TORNADO and run the GO.BAT file.

HOW TO COMPILE, LINK AND RUN TORNADO'S 3D SIMULATION ENGINE SOURCE CODE

Finally, if you want the LATEST, complete source code of Digital Integration's Tornado (3D Simulation engine only because the Advanced Mission Planner and Operation Desert Storm source code is not available anywhere on this planet!) - assembly language source files - please join the Tornado Discord server by clicking this link. When you do join the Discord server, do let me know by sending me an email to boonsengkam at gmail dot com.

Enjoy and cheers

P.S.,
If nothing works, then you have THREE CHOICES.

#1. Go to this Youtube's URL which is youtu.be/G2eJseOToOY and read the Video's description text for installation instructions.
#2. You can also read the "Beginners start here" webpage.
#3. If still nothing works for you, just email me at boonsengkam at gmail dot com.

Cheers
