Steam

Single-player

Naval Hurricane Early Access Launch Date Trailer

About

Turn based tactical game about war at sea between British Royal Navy and Imperial German Navy during World War I. Command powerful dreadnoughts, fast destroyers and stealthy submarines, conduct artillery battles, torpedo attacks and fight for the survivability of damaged ships.

Key Features:

•   Advanced damage model of ships. All ships are close to their historical prototypes.
•   High influence of visibility and weather conditions.

•   Damage control system. Player can manually manage crew to repair modules, patch holes, fight fire, and so on to prevent ship from exiting battle and sinking.

•   Fleet commander career single player global map campaign.

"Campaign is like 'admiral's career' where you start with few small old ships (or even single ship) and gain 'reputation points' by performing dynamic quests or 'free hunt'. Player does not build ships. They are unlocked for purchase for 'reputation points' based on player level and current in game date. Conquering territories is not the main goal of the game in campaign. I'm thinking about something like 'strategic balance' which increased in favour of player when destroying enemy maritime trade, capital ships, successful support of land offensives including landing operations. 3.  A 'Difficulty' tab has been added to the Settings screen with two settings:
Checkbox ‘Show map scale bar and real distance grid in battle’. It is checked by default.
A slider that allows you to adjust the spread of projectiles.

4.  An artillery turret can now be damaged (considered jammed) even if its armor has not been pierced.
5.  Changes of ship models:
The length of torpedo bulkheads of SMS Blücher (Patreon reward ship) has been significantly reduced to cover only compartments near and between the main battery forward and rear centerline gun turrets.
The compartments structure of SMS Blücher (Patreon reward ship) has been slightly modified to have a larger torpedo compartment near the main battery bow turret.
Most of side cofferdam compartments of Scharnhorst class model have been merged with adjacent coal bunker compartments, as is made on other ships in the game.
Compartments structure of Scharnhorst class model has been slightly modified to have an appropriate torpedo tube compartment located near the main battery bow turret.

Update 0.141a. Hotseat mode and damage model tweaks.
Sat, 16 December 2023

1.    Hotseat mode (the ability to select both sides as human players) has been added.
2.    The difficulty, time of day and weather UI selectors of Custom Battle screen have been changed to save space in the UI.
3.    Several minor performance optimizations have been made.
4.    Several errors in the armor model of turrets of Bellerophon class dreadnought have been fixed.
5.    The following changes have been made to the calculation of structural damage:

Structural damage caused by explosions has been reduced by 20%.
Vulnerability to structural damage of all armor plates has been reduced. The effect of armor thickness on vulnerability to structural damage has been reduced.
Torpedo bulkheads vulnerability to structural damage has been further reduced by 25%.
A more stringent rule for selecting adjacent bulkheads for cascading structural damage to exclude more bulkheads faced approximately the same direction as the bulkhead or hull plate that suffered the initial structural damage.

6.    For better simulation of explosions inside and outside the armored turrets, the following changes have been made:

Turret guns were divided into two parts: the bore and the breech mechanism.
To simulate the empty space between the turret and the barbette, virtual armor plates made of “air” material have been added on top of all barbettes that have armored caps. When calculating damage, these plates have higher priority than the plating of the corresponding barbette compartment (just like regular armor plates).

7.    Flooding rate has been reduced by 30%.
8.    A couple of bugs have been fixed.
