We know you are all waiting for The Spirits of Amazonia, we are doing our best and are working hard to make it available for you as soon as possible, but quality is most important! We really appreciate your patience! Stay tuned!





•   Trees now regrow unless the trunk is destroyed(works on both - new and old saves)
•   Asus Aura Sync is now disabled by default(this should resolve crash on startup problems)
•   Tribes use some new sounds




•   Random crashes during gameplay when Asus Aura Sync is enabled
•   Player can spawn under the map after using the Elevator in Story mode(added a precaution spawning Player on terrain if they fall under it)
•   Player can freeze when drinking water from puddles/river via expand menu in quick access when holding a Weapon
•   Player can get stuck in pass out if they wash themselves on low condition
•   Player may keep moving forwards and fall down if opening wheel menu at the start of elevator ride
•   Player freezes while harvesting if co-op destroys the same item
•   Placing an item into a construction slot that is under the storage box irrevocably blocks that slot
•   Attempting to place constructions when rapidly attempting to open notepad can crash the game
•   Error when cutting down a fully-grown Brazil nut tree planted in a large planting box
•   Error when plowing a large growing box after cutting down a Brazil nut tree that was grown in it
•   Host cannot respawn when alone in multiplayer game
•   Host cannot save and quit when alone in session
•   Respawn point does not update in Beds if the Player is alone in the Multiplayer session
•   Spears disappear when thrown at Hunters
•   Sanity Hunter can damage sane co-op when shooting arrows
•   Items in construction slots become small
•   Spilling uncooked soup then trying to cook water in the same container results in soup being cooked
•   Spamming 'Wake up' option when sleeping comfortably gives player Sanity every time
•   Water filter and Bamboo water filter doesn't collect rain water if placed on a roof
•   Cocona_seeds on the ground are invisible unless the player crouches
•   Improper audio for walking on several objects
•   Pause menu stats are overlapping with their values in some languages
•   Some items have wrong position in cooking slots on mud fireside wall built on bamboo wall
•   Maggots have different scale when placed into cooking slots
•   Bow Trap doesn't have precise collision
•   Items that break to smaller items have improper sound when hit
•   Wood resin stacks in improper position
•   Meat placed on upper dryer slots should be hanging down
•   Small fishes and fish meats are hard to take off from Smoker
•   Malanga bulb model does not fit grill rack
•   Some items do not fit in the cooking slots visually
•   Dryer has Bone Needle instead of Bone Hook in it's ghost and Notebook recipe
•   Soup made of multiple items in pot look like water
•   Soup made of multiple items in Turtle Shell or Bowl tur yellowish at the start of cooking process
•   Liquid containers are placed too far from wooden water filter
•   Dripping Water in Bamboo_Water_Filter and Water_Filter is in wrong place
•   Meat soups turn yellow instantly after putting the meat into Pot/Shell/Bowl with water
•   Eggs are placed in wrong position in cooking slot
•   Weapon placement on weapon rack is inconsistent
•   Crab impaled on a certain spears is shown in a wrong angle
•   Water visually disappears from bowls when a soup item is placed inside
•   Microwave LODs other than LOD0 are always closed
•   Short Walls are not destroyed after breaking Short Mud Wall
•   Missing footsteps/jump sounds for several objects
•   Charcoal lying on the ground in Cartel and Harbor is huge
•   Adding mud or ash to mud mixer has wood audio
•   Sound of Microwave open/close is hearable in the whole game world
•   Microwave opening sound is same as closing sound

Hello Adventurers!

While you are waiting for Spirits of Amazonia, explore the new part of the map!

Where to find it? On our PUBLIC TEST BRANCH!

How to change the branch on steam?
- Go to your library
- Right-click Green Hell and choose properties
- Go to the last Tab ‘Betas’
- Now from the expand menu choose branch 'public_test'

Your saves will not be present by default on this branch! If you want to play on your save go to:
C: / Program Files (x86) / Steam / userdata[unique Steam ID] / 815370 / remote.

There you will find your saves ex. MPSlot1.sav. To use it on Public Test branch, copy the file and paste it in the same folder adding 'PTR' between 'Slot' and number. Ex. MPSlot1.sav - MPSlotPTR1.sav

IMPORTANT: Converting back - from PTR to non-PTR save will most likely corrupt it! So the conversion works only one way!
We won't be able to help you if you convert it the other way around!

There is an issue with Hunter AI and it may crash (you will see red text on the bottom left side of your screen, but not all the red texts are crashes) so save often and restart the game when it pops up.

We are also working on performance again, so fear not!

On some systems, there is a slight chance that cutscenes may cause an issue, if this happens please turn off the Cinematics in Game Options.

Hey Adventurers!
We have found a potential fix for incorrect spawning - respawning of co-ops and fixed couple more issues.



- Potential fix for broken spawn system in co-op

- Quick adding items through "Craft" and "Insert" features is not present for items outside Backpack
- Item from crafting table disappear when another of same type is harvested in the Backpack
- Walkie Talkie multi dialogues options are difficult to select using Gamepad
- Pressing the action button after choosing harvest option from expanding menu will result in object not disappearing
- Player can't manually move items from crafting table using Gamepad
- Backpack and Crafting Table do not close automatically when Player takes damage from AI
- Missing translations for new strings
- Player can move during harvest animation

In Part 1 of the Spirits of Amazonia expansion, you stepped back into the main protagonist Jake’s shoes as he befriended an Amazonian tribe for the first time. The year is almost over and we are excited to give you a sneak peek into what's coming for Green Hell in 2022!



Spirits of Amazonia Part 3: The third and final act of the thrilling Spirits of Amazonia story comes to a conclusion and will be free for all owners of Green Hell.
   
 Building Update: The existing building system receives a hefty update that will be less restrictive than the current system. The ability to cut through thicker trees—removing obstacles such as stumps and logs—allows players maximum flexibility when placing their buildings. New items such as doors, bridges, treehouses, and more will be added.

Animal Husbandry: Become the master of your domain and farm animals for many of your needs. Players will be able to catch, breed, and feed some of the rainforest’s creatures; keep them in custom pens, and—when the time comes—harvest them for the resources needed most.

More specific time frames for the arrival of updates will come at a later date, so stay tuned!

Thanks a lot for all your support throughout this week - we are so humbled by the reception of our game and 200 reviews
already. We have been working to deliver a patch as soon as possible to address many of the community's issues - so here are the most interesting things coming to you this patch :)


Features

    Refurbishment of the fire spreading system to make it more intuitive and immersive
    - now you can spread fire like the real survivalists! Throw a burning bird nest to light the campfire to then light a torch by the campfire, and many many more :) Check out the gifs below for more details!










    Added native Oculus VR launch option
    - so you don't have to use only SteamVR anymore!



ADJUSTMENTS

    Tutorial Flow has been adjusted to better explain the fire tool

    Adjustment of the display of diacritic symbols
    Hand positions on many items have been adjusted (for example, palm/banana leaf)
    Badly formatted text in the third article in the third dream sequence has been adjusted
    Swimming on the water surface has been adjusted.
    The hand placement has been adjusted while holding mud
    Torch/Tinder is now extinguished if it touches the water


FIXES

    Players can no longer fly if they put items under their feet or if they pick them up (especially concerning the Fire Plow)

    Players can now again change settings after returning to the main menu
    After turning off the pause menu, you will no longer be able to witness exploding ragdoll physics
    Players can no longer take items from dreams
    Players can now normally fill a bowl with a brew from a different bowl
    The character won't be able to talk on the walkie-talkie while vomiting.
    The generator handle by the elevator no longer immediately falls out of your hands to be pulled endlessly.
    Now the fuel in generators will save normally, so it will be full after loading the saved game
    Players are no longer able to climb almost vertical walls
    Skipping tutorial during the campfire tutorial no longer leaves a notepad tab highlighted
    Players shouldn't have a problem with placing their Crafting Tables anymore

    Entering and exiting pause while sleeping will no longer reveal the player's body
    During the walkie-talkie dialogue, the backpack can now be normally grabbed
    Players can no longer hook up to the lift system while sleeping
    In the tutorial, players can no longer interact with the doors in the tent during dialogue
    Players can no longer dive infinitely without diving equipment
    When players release the Grab button when the Grappling hook is mid-air, they will now be able to pick it up again
    The collider size of a crafted item has been adjusted according to the item's ghost
    The walkie-talkie dialogue options won't disappear while holding the notepad

    Items will no longer get stuck in the Storage Box while picking them up

    Animals killed by snare traps are not floating in the air anymore
    Players can now fill bidon with water from a mud filter
    Some items will no longer behave weirdly when picked up from underneath other objects
    The kindling glow will no longer be so intense
    Resting places should have normal collisions now
    All trees will now correctly make a sound after being hit

Animal Husbandry update is out now!

Dear Adventurers,

Today we’ve changed the rules of Green Hell - at least, a bit. From now on, Jake Higgins can build an animal pen and breed three animals: capybara, tapir and peccary!




To capture those beautiful creatures a new weapon - the Blowpipe- will come in handy. With the use of the blow darts imbued with the Poison Dart Frog venom you can put your catch to sleep, unharmed.



And as you’ve probably guessed, in order to become friends with the captured animal you’ll need to put some effort into it! As you put the animal into its pen and take care of it by feeding and cleaning the place, you’ll gain its trust. When your herd is happy, you can see it grow in numbers! Enjoy the company of both parents and their cute newborns. And the most important thing - the animals will respond to your whistle, and you’ll be able to PET THE ANIMAL.



Animal Husbandry update also adds a beekeeping mechanic, so now, besides plants and meat, you’re able to harvest a premium snack of the Amazonian jungle: honey!






    An entirely new mechanic: Player now can tame capybara, peccary and tapir
    A new weapon: The Blowpipe - to catch a capybara, a peccary or a tapir, you gotta shoot 'em with poison darts that will put it to sleep. Other animals and threats will also fall asleep (forever…)
    Taking care of your animals: supply them with fresh food and water, tidy up their pen so they won’t get sick. And if they trust you, they’ll let you PET THEM
    Breed animals: If you’ll lead female and male animal feel good in their pen, you can be suprised with a newborn

Green Hell VR - July 2022 Summary!

Hello Adventurers!

Before we get into the details, we would like to thank EACH and EVERY one of you for your continuous support of Green Hell VR. It is so humbling to see the positive reception of the game and how the fans are excited for what's to come in the Amazonian jungle. That being said, we won't stop now and continue working on the game more to bring you even more content and QoL changes - so stay tuned for future patches. Now, let's go on to the summary! In July, there has been a lot going on for us:



1. Steam VR Fest
A lot of new people joined our amazing community because of the event, so we would like to, again, warmly welcome you! We also would like to thank Steam for organizing such an amazing event full of great-quality VR games - we were honored to be a part of this year's edition and hope to see more of such! Also, A Wolf In VR has helped us to bring more life to our Store page, so we are forever grateful :) Check out his stream on our page if you haven't yet.



2. Steam Trading Cards
Our 2D Graphic Designer has put all of her heart into the creation of these Steam Trading Cards and we are more than proud of her :) What are you waiting for? Collect and craft your badge and wear it with pride! The artwork is simply breathtaking and, if you haven't yet, take a look at some of the cards below - you won't be disappointed:



3. Challenge Mode Update

One of the most anticipated (of course, after co-op - we are working on it!) updates to the game and it has been a blast. Despite some minor bugs here and there, everyone is thoroughly enjoying the challenges this update brought, and we are motivated by such a reception of the first major update of Green Hell VR on Steam. There will be more to come! Don't forget to join in on discussions in our community on Steam, we appreciate every form of criticism and feedback - we want to learn and grow along with our fans! Because of your input, we managed to even release a hotfix, so more people can enjoy it to the fullest now :)



4. Metacritic

Hello Adventurers!

Hotfix Patch: v.2.3.1 is live now! We would like to thank you all for your support, bug reports and feedback.


 
Fixed:

•   The Player should see the 'follow' icon on an animal from a greater distance
•   Animals will continue to follow the Player after being pet
•   All villagers in all SOA villages now hold and use proper items
•   Petting an animal should not cause blocking the Player's input
•   The Player can now obtain live animals from the Snare Trap
•   It is no longer possible to place the Animal Pen on the construction roofs
•   Petting an animal now increases Sanity and Trust
•   The Player is no longer able to harvest honey from a Beehive without getting stung
•   Animals should no longer stop eating/drinking in co-op sessions
•   Bees nests should now properly replicate in co-op sessions
•   Animals should no longer be able to escape from the Animal Pens
•   The 'Call' action key-bind can now be changed

Pre Update Beta of the Building Update is live now!

Hey Adventurers,

If you remember our road map, we teased that the Building Update will have features like Tree Houses, Footbridge, Triangle Constructions and Doors - but we’ve decided to extend this list by a lot. And before we fully release it, we’d really like to know your opinion on its contents and balance - that is why we proudly announce the opening of the Pre Update Beta (PUB in short) where you can test the new work-in-progress update to your heart’s content!




    Whole new mechanic of building on trees - Wooden / Bamboo Tree House, Wooden / Bamboo Tree Platform and a Footbridge connecting the aforementioned. There is also a new Climbing Place construction which is necessary for reaching the treetops. A Tree House can be built on the biggest tree you’ll see around - the one covered with Indigo Blue Leptonia Mushrooms and Banisteriopsis Vine. Tree Platforms can be placed on thinner trees, the ones that can’t be cut and are often covered with ivy. Bonus: you can build two floors in your Tree House!
    Floating Platform will let you build your abode on water - up to 3 floors high,
    New axe - Heavy Stone Axe,
    Introducing Triangular Constructions with Wooden / Bamboo Triangular Frames,
    Wooden / Bamboo Doors - now you can let everybody know if you're waiting for uninvited jungle guests… Or not!
    New building material options - now you can build Bamboo or Wooden Walls & Roofs & Ceilings,
    Improved mechanic of placing multiple ghost constructions - now you can place more than one at a time,
    New Notepad arrangement - now the Notebook is slimmer and more concise - you don’t have to shuffle numerous pages to find the construction and the material you’d like to make it from,
    New option of cutting down Big Palms, Logs, Stumps, Branches - now you’ll be able to clear your path in the Amazonia,



To take part in the Building Update’s Pre Update Beta (PUB), you need to:

    have Green Hell added to your Steam library - and downloaded as well,
    click the right mouse button on it, and choose “Properties”,
    in the popup choose option “Beta”, then activate the code: LoveYourCapybara, and select “GH_PUB” branch,
    now you can play the Building Update contents before their release - in thePre Update Beta access!
    If after putting the code in you still can't see the GH_PUB branch, please restart Steam - and try again. You won’t be able to move saves between your main game and PUB.



Since the PUB is still a work in progress, it is not impossible that you may experience crashes - this is when some specific commands will appear in the right- bottom part of the screen.
Whenever that happens - please save your progress and restart the game.

Most crucial part of the beta tests is your feedback. That’s why after you close the game, a short Google Forms questionnaire will appear - and we know, it’s a popup, but please don’t skip it!

By getting the survey results and your opinions on both Discord and Steam together, we’ll shape the final Building Update experience, which we’re planning to release in no longer than a few weeks.
