Tournament Update: Wasteland Wreckers!
Tue, 3 November 2020

Wreck your way to the top and claim the Battle Bus!

HIGHLIGHTS

•   New tournament: Wasteland Wreckers
•   New free tournament reward vehicle: Battle Bus
•   Engine upgrades for many special vehicles
•   Handling improvements for special vehicles
•   Stability and quality of life enhancements

We're pleased to announce the availability of a new tournament!

After the thrilling high-speed pursuits of the out-going Getaway Heat, it's time to change gears and start shelling some serious hits again! This time we're inviting you to join us on derelict Rockfield Roughspot on which you're going to be the main star of a gladiator battle and face off with badass wrecking crew. For that, a new tool of destruction is waiting for you: Battle Bus! Armored to the teeth and equipped with a massive plow, this thing will demolish absolutely everything in its path. Your mission: destroy the oncoming marauders, wreck your way to the top of the rankings and claim your own Battle Bus. The monthly events are no slouch either, challenging you to cause as much chaos as possible using the Bandit Ripper on selected tracks. Who will be the toughest wrecker this time around? Time to find out!

Apart from the new tournament, this release also contains numerous other neat additions. First of all, we've added engine upgrades for many special vehicles as well as tweaked their handling, so if up until now you've thought something like School Bus is too slow and boring for you make sure to check it out now! We've also expanded the AI Sets, so now it's possible to, for example, arrange a custom event against a random mix of normal cars and special vehicles. It might get crazy yes, so please don't tell us we didn't warn you. Other things worth cherry-picking from the release notes is fixes to player inventory handling, removing bogus duplicates and making sure player can doesn't appear ineligible for no reason, damage from wheel hub collisions now yielding score to the attacker, leaderboard update improvements, and more. We invite you to review the summary of items fixed or improved below for full details.

Happy wrecking!

Tournament Update: Racing Heroes
Tue, 8 December 2020

Race to the victory!

HIGHLIGHTS

•   New DLC: Racing Heroes Car Pack
•   New tournament: Racing Heroes
•   New free track: Eagles Peak Motorpark
•   New free tournament reward bundles

We're pleased to announce the availability of a new tournament!

In keeping with the spirit of the new car pack, this tournament is all about racing! In the headline event, we're tasking you to chase the opponents on the new Eagles Motorpark using the Stellar from the car pack. The better your position the more score you earn per each meter traveled, plus you get bonus score for each lap as long you keep up a good pace. In the weekly events, you're challenged to clock the best possible lap time on the new track, as well as try out some heavy-hitting demolition action on the derby stadium layout of the track. Don't forget to check out the new reward bundles for Boomer and Nexus, available in the tournament shop!

RACING HEROES CAR PACK
In case you're looking for new rides, we also have a new Car Pack out! The pack includes three new cars: Raven is a true battle beast of a car that packs plenty of grunt and shreds opposition with raw power, Speedie is a peppery little car that punches above its weight, and Stellar is a legendary rally missile that is at home on both twisty gravel and tarmac.

UNLEASH THE FWDS
For a long time now, the front-wheel drive cars have been the unappreciated underdogs of the Wreckfest roster but that's going to change now! The celebrate the addition of another front-wheel drive car, we've improved the handling of the existing ones as well so they're decidedly more fun to pilot now. You don't have to take our word for it, though, instead take them out for a spin yourself!

SUPPORT FOR CUSTOM WHEELS
In other news, we have exciting news for the owners of Direct Drive wheels! We've added a solution to make the game recognize them as steering wheels, so you can finally enjoy Wreckfest with all the glory of unparaled force feedback effects provided by your wheel! We are providing definitions for certain SimuCube and Leo Bodnar devices straight out of the box, but it's also very easy to configure your own device.

To do so, please follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the tools folder in the game's installation folder.
2. Run the provided "DeviceOut" tool, preferably piping the output to an text file ("DeviceOut.exe >output.txt").
3. Open the output, find the GUID of your steering wheel and copy it on the clipboard.
4. Open "customWheels.json" in the game's installation folder.
5. Paste the GUID of your device on top of the GUID of the "EXAMPLE" definition and change the name into something you want.
6. Save the file, and you're done!

What's even better is that you can adjust the force feedback effects to your liking. To do so, all you need to do is to use the provided BagEditor to open data/vehicles/shared/physics/forcefeedback_dd.vffb and then tweak the various parameters available. This file can be shared between users so make sure to share your favorite settings with other users for example on Steam Workshop. Unless of course the settings are your secret weapon on the track! Many thanks to Granite Devices, the creators of SimuCube, and Devin, a long-standing and respected member of our community, for assistance.

As always, we're also actively working on improving the gameplay experience based on the feedback so this this release contains numerous other improvements and additions as well. We invite you to check out the complete summary of items fixed or improved below.

•   Bug fixes and improvements

We're pleased to announce the availability of a new tournament!

As you know, in many parts of the world it's that magical time of the year again that the white powdery stuff covers everything into its blanket. Yes, that's snow! As some of you might remember, a few years back we did a holiday special featuring snow, and since many of you have been hoping to see something similar again, we just couldn't leave you all out cold. So, sure enough snow has covered the Valley of Bugbear once again! And what's even more fun is that this time we got snowballs too!

That's right: No winter would be complete without glistening snow, slippery roads, and of course, snowball fights! Since we're talking about Wreckfest here, the snowballs in the headlining tournament event "Snowball Run" are of pretty destructive type, and tossing one unleashes a whirlwind of vehicular destruction wrecking anything in its path. Let's see who's going to be the toughest snowball fighter! The sideshow events are keeping it in the spirit as well, with winter-themed demolition races, demolition derbies and time attacks guaranteed to offer sideways going, sheet metal tearing wintry fun. Make sure to check them all out because awaiting the top players we have a very special prize: a wicked new tournament reward car Starbeast SS, sure to strike the right chords with the fans of the Early Access version of the car.

Besides, we're always actively working on improving the gameplay experience based on the feedback, and thus this release contains a number of additional enhancements and bug fixes. We invite you to check out the release notes below for a complete summary of items fixed or improved upon. As always, thanks for all the feedback!

Wrecknado Tournament Update & Reckless Car Pack!
Tue, 9 February 2021

Who will be left standing in the whirlwind of destruction?

•   New DLC: Reckless Car Pack
•   New tournament: Wrecknado
•   New free racing and derby track: Wrecknado
•   New free tournament reward bundles

We're thrilled to announce a new tournament and the brand new Reckless Car Pack!

For past month, we've been having a whole lot of snowy fun during the Winter Fest tournament, but now it's time to say goodbye to wintery shenanigans and brace yourself - a storm is coming, and not just any storm but Wrecknado, a whirlwind of destruction!

The undisputed star of this tournament is the new track Wrecknado, designed for maximum mayhem and featuring high banked loops that feed the hapless racers into the vortex of destruction in the middle. Your job is to take the new DLC car Gorbie and cause as much as destruction as you can, all while racing for the victory. Awaiting the best wreckers are two new bundles in the Tournament Shop, the "Taxi Wrecker" bundle for Rammer RS and "Drag 55" for Bulldog. Let the wrecking commence!

If you've been itching to get your hands on some new rides, we also have great news for you: the latest DLC "Reckless Car Pack" is now available! This pack expands your garage with three new unique rides, and like always, we got something for everyone here: Gorbie is the offbeat community favorite that's pure fun to drive (check out the epic engine sound!) and even more fun to demolish, Blade is an 80s styled American racing car that looks way too fast even when standing still, and Stepvan is a pop culture classic with which you're going to be not only serving maximum damage but ice cream! And if you're not into ice cream, fret not, because sure enough we've got bonus paint jobs for all your utilitarian needs. This DLC pack is included in Season Pass 2 so if you're lucky enough have that, you're already good to go!

We're also actively working on improving the gameplay experience based on your feedback, and this release contains a number of additional enhancements and bug fixes. Rally Trophy Tournament Update
Tue, 2 November 2021

After 20 years, Rally Trophy is back!

HIGHLIGHTS

    New tournament: Rally Trophy

    New free Rally Trophy track

    New tournament reward bundles

We're thrilled to announce the availability of a new tournament, and it's something very special!

It's been 20 years since the historic rally simulation Rally Trophy developed by us was unleashed to the rallying masses, and we thought it would be a perfect way to commemorate the 20th anniversary to bring the game back! Well, obviously not completely but as a special tournament event in Wreckfest.

To challenge the would-be rally drivers is a long special stage winding through countryside fields and woodlands, and with times clocking in at around 6 minutes the route is not only epic in length but also a unique experience for Wreckfest. What's best is that the track is also accessible outside the tournament so you can experience it also in multiplayer!

And since you of course need a car to match, we've prepared a special Boomer RS part bundle inspired by the iconic Rally Trophy car so you can be properly kitted out to tackle the challenge. In addition to the Rally Trophy bundle, a wicked new time attack styled Gremlin bundle is another newcomer in the shop so make sure to check them both out!

Ohhhh, this game is crazy good, Physics are fantastic and it brings back the good old day's of Destruction Derby games, but this is real.
When you want you can do real racing with an very high realistic damage model.
So when you like crazy car races buy it :)

And maybe we meet on the track  :winner

Introducing Solo Tournament
Tue, 6 September 2022

The greatest tournament events, now as solo challenges
All the best tournament challenges are back!

In case you're still missing some of the goodies from the tournament shop or just started playing, we have some great news to you: to give more players chance a chance to earn tournament points and reap the rewards, we are retiring the leaderboard based challenges and replacing them with solo challenges that will challenge you to best scores set by us. What this means in practice is that from now on you can complete tournament challenges at your own pace and earn fame to empty the tournament shop. And it's now easier too to score gold since we're pretty shoddy players so what's not to love?

As usual, the challenges are rotated every day, and even the longest lasting ones rotate every two weeks, so if you want to maximize your rewards make sure to check back often. Good luck, happy wrecking and have fun!
