SimWorks Studios announcement

Dear friends and customers, as of tomorrow we will be taking down our old website (which is a mess) and are starting a new one which is expected to air on March.

If you have any enquiries about our products or need technical support please contact us through our Facebook page. Alternative venues will also be provided on a "maintenance" page so you can get in touch.

For customers who purchased through 3rd party vendors, we will update our support e-mails to a new, temporary account until everything is up and running.

Sorry for the inconvenience in advance and expect us in March with more than just a new website!

Announcement 02/03/19

From the dev:

"With February behind us, we are preparing for the launch of our new website and getting back into the thick of things.

First, a few words on the new website. When it rolls out in a couple of weeks, existing and future customers will be able to create an account and easily access their product downloads, updates, manuals and special promotions related to their products.

For product support, the website will feature a knowledge base which will help you resolve known issues, along with a traditional support-only forum. Furthermore, we are looking into the possibility of integrating a ticketing system, but this is in R&D right now.

Lastly, we have started our own Discord server for developement purposes, but will open it up in the place of traditional "general discussion" forums. While it is a step away from what we're used to, it will allow more direct communication between community member as well as community & developers.

Regarding our products, we are in full swing working on everything we've shown you here and even more than that. We will soon push the last testing version of the F-4 and Midway to the testers and hope to have it ready for launch together with the website.

The Phantom has a merged TP/non-TP loadout editor so you no longer have to manually select which version you want to install. We have also resolved the infamous "dead controls bug" and implemented a scratch-built autopilot and a simulation of the ACLS system that was installed on the later aircraft. Not all is good, though. A couple of days ago we were informed that the F-4's FD update cannot be completed. As the last beta had some significant issues during the approach phase, we will have to roll back to the last public version which you already have.

Regarding our naval products, a lot of work is being put into streamlining the usability of our carrier tech, as well as fixing the last few features we added before releasing it to the public. Nimitz & Ike are modelled and ready and we're painting the static aircraft for them, while fixing the bugs that popped during testing.

A decision was made not to include the retro versions of the Nimitz as the work required for the vingate air wings would increase the product price a lot. Instead, we decided to release Nimitz & Ike as a single product owing to the visual similarities between the two carriers. The plan is to follow up with CVN70-72 and 73-75 as separate packages later -no, we don't plan to do 76/77.

More news coming on our other products soon!"

A view of the Nimitz from Ike's superstructure in P3Dv4.

Detail work on the carrier's deck. Our experiments in ddetailing have yielded excellent FPS given the complexity of the carrier and today's add-on aircraft!

The best way to close a testing session of the Phantom is to practice landing after an engine fire!

Update 19/03/19

"Work, work, work!

The new website has taken form and we are starting to add content to it to have it ready for launch on the 25th!

Phantom & Midway update is complete and pending the final OK from our testing team. We are trying hard to have it ready for the launch of our new website.

In the meantime, the Tweet is progressing slowly but surely, taking much longer than anticipated but getting there! Featuring some features unseen before in P3D, expect the Tweet to blow you away when it comes out! Here is a small sample of the utility light that will help you see the battery switch at night.

But there is more coming! Stay tuned the days leading up to launch to see what's coming from SWS!"

Update
24/03/19

The new SWS website will air tomorrow night! If you are a customer of ours, you will receive an e-mail notification from us soon in order to get access to your orders in our new e-shop system.

The first option is to create an SWS account on our website, which will give you easy access to updates & news about our existing products, as well as connect you easily to any special offers you may be entitled to.

The second option will be to not have an SWS account and receive product updates via e-mail notifications.

We expect that you will have access to your new products within 24h from registering, but please bear with us as we need to do this manually and may take a bit longer.

To celebrate the launch, we will be holding a 33% sale for the listed products on our website for 10 days, starting when the website goes live!

F-4B/N Phantom II for FSX/P3Dv2-4
Midway Battlegroup
Descent2View Chios for X-Plane 11.

The new website is live!

"Over the next few days we will be completing the move of our customers into the new system.

Please pay us a visit on https://www.simworksstudios.com and let us know what you think!

P.S.: Guest purchased are not available yet as we are working out some quirks with our payments processor. Registered customers are good to go!"

After a long wait, the new SWS website is live and ready to host our new cutting-edge simulation products!

Our new website was designed with the intention to provide a pleasant experience to our visitors and making interaction with customers easy. Its major features are:

•   A robust page that will create a great browsing experience: from 360o screenshots to panoramic cockpit images, you will be able to get a preview of our products on your browser!
•   A user account system that will allow you to easily access and manage your orders, support requests and special offers tied to products you’ve already purchased
•   Credit card payments: we are now able to process credit cards, negating the need to create a Paypal account
•   A knowledge base containing fixes for known issues and a ticket-based support system that will allow us to process any requests more efficiently
•   An upgraded manuals system that will allow us to add more detailed and interactive manuals for your training
•   A Technology area for businesses that could be interested in using SWS technology in their products

Regarding our products, the F-4B Phantom II and Midway Battlegroup are the same versions as before. Testing of the carrier features and F-4 fixes are underway and we will be able to issue a big update very soon!
In the meantime, all products on our catalogue are 33% off until April 5th, to celebrate the launch!

Status update
13/05/19

Posted on SWS FB page: https://www.facebook.com/SimWorksStudios/

while a Tri-lease of the F-4 patch, Midway and Nimitz was planned for release this week, certain "deal breaker" bugs appeared in the last test version that forced us to withdraw.

We seem to be done and going back into testing. If all goes well, tri-lease will happen in May.

If not, would you like us to release the Midway & F-4 updates with the new carrier features in an "open beta" state, or release together with the Nimitz when all is done?

The first testing results seem to be positive. Fingers crossed this Friday we'll have the Phantom & Midway patch out.

The dev team have already cleared the Nimitz for release and the first test results are positive. The page will go live by Tuesday and barring something unforeseen, Nimitz Class Vol. 1 will be released this Friday, May 24th as well -Ike's crew already approves as can be seen in the photo.
