(Convention:
the arrows without a tail - gun
rectangle-cavalry
oval-hill
line-infantry brigade
arrows with tail-attack directions)

Battle plan for the defending side

The result of the battle: the victory of the attacker.

The decisive factor in the victory was the successful placement of guns in the South of the map. Defending a mistake to place all the guns on the North hill (had a part to place in the great Eastern forest).

In the beginning the plan was a quick arrival and from the beginning of the processing of the artillery of the lines of infantry for half an hour before the assault on the defense.
But, meeting the enemy in the North-Eastern forest, I decided to knock the enemy out of the forest and occupation point part of their forces. Thus, having divided his division in two brigades on the two wings,I started to attack the forest, while the second brigade and the artillery,I continued moving to the point.Knocking the enemy out of the forest,I took the Western end of it,and took the defense. The second wing on the point, took up defensive positions and supported by cavalry and artillery corps commander, repulsed the attacks of the enemy.Having lost half of my troops in the North, I left the edge of the forest and stopped at the center and Eastern end of the forest.Under the end of the fight,I started to get the wings on the point pobatalonno sending unit on the point, thus strengthening its defence on the point.

The allied defender (Brunswick Division) preferred to line up according terrain advantages (elevation and woods) rather than occupying and defending the objective.
Attacker cavalry on arrival quickly took the chance and seized the objective successivly gaining victory points from the occupation.
Until one of the two french infantry brigades and two batteries relieved the cavalry at the objective, it suffered from bombardments and lacked from using its mobility.
The permanent gaining of victory points by the french from holding the objective forced the defender to become an attacker, which finally also resulted in more than 300 men of higher losses. The approach onto combined forces lines, including two batteries, certainly demanded a price to be paid.

- each force had around 7000 men
- the allied defender was favored by more infantry troops and better quality of cavalry and manpower in total
- the french attacker was favored by one battery (3 in total, 1 of them medium or heavy) more and about 100 - 200 higher number of riders.
