About SUPERSCRIPT

Whether you're a home user, hobbyist, or a location-based enterprise, SuperScript can be used to enable complex hardware switchology for everything from desktop HOTAS setups to full-cockpits.

SuperScript is a comprehensive set of Lua modules for FSUIPC (payware versions) for interfacing hardware with the VRS F/A-18E Superbug. This suite is designed to assist everyone from desktop simulator enthusiasts with HOTAS setups, to full cockpit builders who wish to build complex hardware systems including physical switches, knobs, levers and lights.

Command the aircraft using real hardware instead of mouse clicking the virtual cockpit. SuperScript goes far beyond what's possible with standard game device profiling software such as T.A.R.G.E.T. by interfacing directly with the Superbug's simulation variables. This allows discrete interactions ranging from rich TDC control in HOTAS setups to advanced cockpit lighting and switchology that simply cannot be achieved by other means.

Key Features

Whether interfacing a basic HOTAS desktop setup or a complete 1:1 scaled simulator cockpit representing every panel in the aircraft, SuperScript will do all the "heavy lifting" for you, making the task of interfacing a breeze.

•   All cockpit input switches mapped using an easy-to-edit parameter look-up file
•   Over 1800 INPUT switch and knob parameters available for assignment
•   Commanded, cycle (including toggle) and incremental positioning of all controls
•   Support for all types of hardware including toggle switches, push button switches, rotary encoders and potentiometers
•   Automatic time stamped historical backup of FSUIPCx.INI
•   7 special rotary encoder and analog acceleration modules for many of the special functions found in the Superbug such as TDC cursor/FLIR control and Radar elevation/azimuth control
•   12 annunciator lamp output modules
•   6 non-flight gauge output modules
•   42 dedicated knob control modules for axis assignment with customizable pre-scalars for calibrated discrete virtual knob control
•   Built-in exerciser routines including transparent diagnostic displays for hardware verification and troubleshooting
•   Macro routines for commanding multiple operations from a single event
•   Extensive
Wiki-based documentation with detailed setup tutorials

Refined & Tested for Over 4 Years

SuperScript, originally conceived in 2014 by Glenn Weston, has undergone much development and testing over the last four years, and many refinements have been made with the help of the cockpit building community and the cooperation of VRS. SuperScript is now available as a retail product for a wide range of applications with licensing available for both commercial and domestic-use. Many cockpit builders from all over the world have contributed to SuperScript with feedback to help make these modules as streamlined as possible.

SuperScript Version 3.xx includes native x64 support for FSUIPC v5/P3D v4 (64-bit) as well as support for FSUIPC v4/FSX/P3D (32-bit). SuperScript is completely event driven, and thus very efficient in terms of processing and RAM requirements, making it perfect for use with demanding simulation environments. With this collection of modules you can now build full cockpit hardware designed around the VRS F/A-18E. Every simulation switch, knob, lever, gauge and lamp is available for direct hardware interfacing. Commercial users can rely on SuperScript to drive their cockpit systems† with the reliably and efficiency required for high-demand location-based enterprises.

Available in 3 Builds for any Application

Superscript is available in 3 editions with applications ranging from desktop HOTAS setups to fully integrated cockpits for both personal and commercial use. All versions of Superscript require FSUIPC (payware version), VRS Superbug and TacPack.

•   Full Thrustmaster® HOTAS Warthog™
 support. Other HOTAS units supported
•   Support for multiple Thrustmaster® MFD Cougar™
 panels and multi-monitor setups
•   Easy setup - no programming experience required
•   For FSX/FSX:SE/P3D Academic
•   Requires FSUIPC (payware), VRS Superbug & TacPack
•   Includes 1-year of free updates

Builder Edition

•   All the features of the Desktop Edition plus:
•   Support for every switch, knob, button, lamp and lever in the cockpit †
•   Support for "steam" gauges including battery voltage, hydraulics and brake pressure
•   Support for electrically held/spring-loaded switches
•   Economically priced for hobbyist use

VRS is proud to be working with Glenn Weston (Tripod), SuperScript's author, to bringing this incredible tool to market for domestic and commercial use! In a nutshell, SuperScript is a set of Lua modules, running under FSUIPC, that communicates directly with Superbug aircraft variables in order to provide the most comprehensive hardware interface possible.

As many may not know, VRS provides enterprise solutions for applications ranging from R&D to location-based entertainment and training. Some of VRS' customers include the USAF, the USMC, as well as many international clients. SuperScript Professional Edition fills a huge gap in establishing a baseline, supported system whereby complex hardware can be directly interfaced with our software.

SuperScript Builder Edition supports hobbyist needs where commercial licensing (P3D Pro) is not required, but users still want all the features of SuperScript devoted to complex output systems such as annunciator lamps and gauges.

Finally, SuperScript Desktop Edition is an affordable solution for those that wish to tightly interface desktop HOTAS (e.g. Thrustmaster Warthog) and/or MFD (e.g. Thustmaster Cougar) systems.

Once again, a big congrats to Glenn on SS's official release. Great work, Sir!
