I think there were many victims in the long and beautiful battle of yesterday. I was very surprised to learn of our defeat, I had defeated the British, and I was taking a position on the right of the blond general. the game is over for imitations of time. Patience, we'll do it next time. Honor to the general vintners Sandman and Pretoria

According my battle result table it was a different outcome: The french Generals Biondo and Colbert were victorious. 

The 2 british Corps managed to reach the objective earlier than the french, but had not enough time to prepare a proper defence formation. But still, it guaranteed the posession of the objective for about two third of the battle.

The defence position was an advantage, because one french corps had to engage from low grounds. On the other hand, the french had more Cav squadrons of which a certain ammount was also of better quality. I did not try to intercept the french Cav attacking combined with Inf at the very beginning of the contact quite aggresively, because this evidently would have lead to a situation in which I was confronted with still half of the french Cav while mine was neutralized.

General Preatoria had a hard time when he was engaged by one complete and also parts of the other french Corps. He had even less Cav than me (slightly more than 1000 horses), but did a really great job, inflicting more casualities than he was taking, until he got MiA after 2 hours (he had to stop playing cos it became too late; the time went slowly due lagg).

Although General Sandman managed to almost eleminate the french left flank Division and numerous cannons by flanking with his reseves, the remains of General Praetorias Corps were now on their own without their carismatic leader. Also outnumbered these troops then had to suffer many casualities.

BTW, technically General Sandman could NOT take over the command of Praetorias troops, because he unfortunatly didnt choose the superior ego of Wellington (army level) in the game setup.

Finally the french managed to occupy the objective for maybe 3-4 time-intervalls.

All in all the french offence was conducted very solid and lead to a french victory. 

General Colbert did exploit General Biondo´s sacrifice in a masterly manner and finally completed the enemy´s checkmate.
