Ports in router: 2302

If you fail to connect check following:
•   Firewalls in router & Windows
•   Ports in router
•   Blocking by programme such as Norton
•   Check "multicast" setting (see below)

Multicast  server setting

Multicast is the ability of VBS3 to reduce the strain on a server caused by a large number of clients. If you are trying to connect a remote VBS client across a WAN to a dedicated server, this article will show how. At present multicast only works over LAN. If attempting to use multicast "over the internet" or through WAN settings, the error "multicast connection rejected" will come back. Multicast is enabled in VBS3 by default.

To remove Multicast:
•   VBS Launcher
•   VBS3 tab
•   Network tab
•   Multicast option: remove the X
•   Launch

Alternative network connection

If all else fails try LogMeIn Hamachi. It is Free. LogMeIn Hamachi is a hosted VPN service that lets you securely extend LAN-like networks to distributed teams, workers and your gamer friends alike. In minutes.

Select the "unmanaged mode": https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/download.aspx

VBS3 allows you to improve the graphical performance of your scenarios based on your needs. In our KnowledgeBase, we offer ways to adjust performance of VBS3, based on different simulation uses. Fine tune your FPS, optimize terrain settings, and adjust extra parameters for more advanced adjustments.

VBS3 is a graphically demanding simulation with a large number of elements that affect visual performance in different ways.

There are various ways to improve the graphical performance of your instance of VBS3.

Red and Yellow Link Icon

The red link icon means that there is a significant de synchronisation between the server and the client workstation. At the start of the mission its normal, but later on in the mission it normally indicates that the machines receiving updates that are older than a set limit.

green
- within margin.
yellow - little bit out of margin
red - really late arriving packets.

Occasional red links are perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. If the workstation is dropping out, or you are seeing considerable red link icons across the workstations in the scenario, you may have a network issue. (i.e. chatty NIC)

If you aren't having issues and it's just appearing you could use the startup parameter -MinErrLevel = 6 ;   and that will hide the chains from showing up.
