V.1.01 Update
09/10/19


1. Bug Fix: Fix the bug that squads often wait several seconds to execute an order.

2. Bug Fix: Enemy squads occasionally move to the corner of the map.

3. Bug Fix: Attacked by enemy armies at the time of entering a village, the enemies will not show up and battle cannot be completed.

4. Bug Fix: When selecting multiple squads will put multiple waypoints.

5. Bug Fix: After capturing an enemy general, the same general will appear in a bar.

6. Bug Fix: Reversed name of achievement.

7. Disabled controllers to solve the spinning bug. (we will add options to turn it on in future patches)

8. Reduced the health growth rate for most soldiers.

9. Increased combat revenue.

10. Added fire rate display for guns in the description window.


For the next update we will focus on.

•   Add a few new guns.

•   Balance the economy system, increase city tax rate and income from trading routes.

•   Adjustment gun handling and damage.

•   Balance each unit's growth.

•   Add more AI strategies and tactics.

Version 1.1 changelog

New features:

-Alpha Forces invasion: After you dominated the world, a powerful new faction will arrive and commence a massive invasion. Be prepared for the last fight!





-Added Auto Resolve function. You can engage the enemy without entering the battle (but you cannot capture generals in this way).


-New interactive tutorial. An interactive guide can help you learn the game faster. It will be triggered when you start a new game and it can be skipped. (The completion of the guide will receive additional rewards)


-New character preset options: some character presets will start with a city or a companion.


-Three new weapons: Uzi, Thompson, and M4A.






-You can use smoke grenades to cover your actions.


-First-person arms in combat will have different looks based on your outfit.

-On the strategy map you can use F1-F7 buttons to quickly select squad and F8 to select all squads.

-Modified information about weapons, armor, and wearable equipment.


-Partial gamepad support and key mapping can be set up in settings (In combat only).

-Added Keys and gamepad guide.

Balance Changes:
Reduced weapon proficiencies' influence on damage.
Adjusted amount of money and experience gained after the battle.
Adjusted player's Skills Points. Now you will have one free point to add to skill points after every two levels.
Player's Training skill will give your army much more bonus in gaining experience.

Gun Adjustments:
Adjusted handling of M416,M16A5,SCAR-L,VT14,MK14,SVD,PKM,HMG,MINI24 , reduced recoil to improve accuracy.
Changed the MAC ammo type to 9 mm and increased its capacity and rate of fire.
Changed AKS76 ammo to 7.62 mm and reduced its accuracy.
Changed VAL ammo to 9mm.
Reduced recoil of some guns. Increase shotgun, assault rifle, and pistol's accuracy.
Adjusted damage for rifle and machine gun, such as SR100, SSG08, SV95, PKM74, HMG, Mini24, etc.
Adjusted the overall damage of the pistol, increased the accuracy and reduced the price.

Units Adjustments:
Increased companion's growth rate and their hitpoints. Increased companions' visual range.
Adjusted some soldiers' initial health, growth rate, weapon type, weapon proficiency, visual range, and moving speed.
Adjusted some soldiers and companions machine gun proficiency, they can directly use machine guns — for example, Scorpion Assault Troop and Solitary Wolf Scout Unit.

Adjusted Federal Armed Police weapons for shotgun: Shot12
Adjust Federal Assault weapons for the automatic rifle: AK12
Tuning VFA Women Special Police weapon for shotgun: Striker12
Adjusted Spetsnaz weapon for the automatic rifle: M416
Adjusted Solitary Wolf Scout weapon for an assault rifle: UMP9
Adjusted Rattlesnake Special Soldier weapon for machine gun: HMG
Adjust Terrorist weapon for machine gun: PKM74

Props Adjustments:
Adjusted gun attachments, reduced the price of sights and silencers.
Adjusted the price and value of some food.
Adjusted the price of some items, improved trading income.
Some high-level armors and weapons will only appear after the player reached a certain level.

Other Adjustments:
Increased waiting time of reinforcements to join the battle on the world map.
Increased NPC pistol proficiency.
Reduced the difficulty of the village garrison.
Reduced the construction price of city buildings.
Tweaked the formation.
Adjusted soldiers' running speed and fixed some animation speed.
Adjusted UI style, unified text, and buttons.

Bug Fix: Game crashes on certain systems.
Bug Fix: The prisoner UI could not be closed after the battle.
Bug Fix: Some cities have too many prisoners.


Next version's highlights:
We are about to finish and upload the Modding tool.

New features updated in v1.2 Test Version:

New Campaign:
-In addition to the original Classic Battle, three new campaigns are available upon new games: Rise of Atov, Conquest to Unite a Land, and Three War Parties.
-In addition to the original Classic Battle, two new special campaigns are available upon new games: A Continent of Chaos and Challenge Mode.
Note: choosing a new campaign provides fresh game experience with different gaming stages and environments, as well as a new strategy.

Quick Game:
-A Quick Game option is added at the campaign mode. This option allows players to customize and start a battle directly.
-In a Quick Game, players are allowed to customize a battle. Battle type including: City Offense & Defense, Village Breakthrough, Annihilation, Field Encounter, Stronghold Annihilation, are available. Environment options including: mountain, snow, forest, desert, are available. Other options including factions, troops, class and time of the day are available.
Note: Famous Battles are available at the Quick Game mode. By choosing well-known battles in the game, players are allowed to further explore their companions’ backstories, through fighting on their side. These battles come with default factions, troops, location and time of the day. Players can jump directly to the fight and steer the battlefield, after choosing the class.

Gambling:
- Gambling is added to each city, in the Bar. Each lottery draw cost a few coins. Rewards will be added to the Inventory.

Black Market:
-Remake the Black Market. Remove uncommon weapons from the Black Market. More powerful Customized Weapons are added to the Black Market. Upon each entering, players are allowed to choose one Customized Weapon, with enhanced features.
-Other items from the former Black Market are available at the Merchant.
Note: Enhanced features include: Damage, Capacity, Accuracy, Firing Rate, Velocity, Projectile Amount, and Bullet Versatility. These combinations make Customized Weapons more powerful, so pick with patience.

Steam Achievement:
-Steam Achievement is now available. Upon accomplishing a game achievement will unlock a Steam Achievement.

Balancing:
-HMG are equipped with 50Cal ammo now.

Bugs Fix:
-Enemy soldiers now DO NOT “occasionally move faster in the battle”.
-Some Companions' preference now matches the gifts. Good for them.
-Accepting a Faction Companion's quest will not cause an uncontrollable situation now.
-AI construction will not exceed Land Limit now. Stop CHEATING, AI!

Highlights of Next Update:
Optimizing the game's art effect.
Balancing soldiers to reduce the level effect and increase the challenge.
Balancing enemy troops in the field.
Remaking maps of Field Battle.


To Opt Into the Test branch.

Launch the Steam Client. Go to the LIBRARY tab. Right click on Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare and select Properties. Then click the BETAS tab. Then select "test-Test Version" from the drop-down and close the window. Then update the game and you are ready to go. You can opt out at any time to get the default version of the game.

Important: Steam Workshop option is available at the start menu.
Modding tools are coming soon.

New features:
-New reactions added. When an AI takes hit, it will respond with new reaction movements, which allows players to clearly know the result.
-When selling items in a market place, players can turn on the auto-sort function, which allows faster trading.

Optimization:
-Adjusted the damage speed of bulletproof vests and helmets in the game. Now hitting by different weapons, the same armor will last differently.
-Trees, bushes, leaves and their shades now block AI soldier's sight more effectively than before. Players are now encouraged to unitize the terrain, therefore creating various battle plans, such as ambush, and supersizing counter-attack.
-Optimized the graphics of trees and stones in general in the battle maps.
-Optimized the graphics of trees and stones when taking hit in the battle maps.

You can now download mods for Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare.





So far there is only one mod uploaded by us https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1940975856&searchtext= , but with the modding tools that we will release in a couple of days, there will be more and more community-made mods!





You can download mod from the Steam, Nexus or ModDB.


Our modding tools are powerful, you can mod almost everything in the game, including maps, guns, clothes, factions, soldiers, companions and etc. Possibilities for mods are countless.

There will be detailed PDF documentation and around 20 step-by-step tutorial videos to help you easily learn how to mod Freeman. Also, our developers will be there to assist you.

-Optimized game's support for a mod to start mod more quickly.
-Optimized the game performance, improved the frame rate during the battle, made the screen and operation more smooth.
-Optimized the soldiers' visual field in battle. If hiding behind trees, bushes, and stones, now for AI more challenging to find a player.
-Adjusted the way of using simple and smoke grenades for soldiers, so that AI can use them more quickly and effectively, and made more durable use of medkits.
-Adjusted the data of Uman Terrorists and Uman Milita to increase the difficulty of attacking them slightly.

It was our KK Game Studio’s 3 years birthday not long time ago! And now we are ready to move forward!

Firstly, we changed our name to KK Game Studios because we are expanding our production capacity by creating a few more studios to make all the ideas that we have come true.

Localization with MOD Tools
Thu, 13 February 2020

How to change localization through the Modding Tools

1. Open “MOD” project in Unity.



2. Open TOOL/ BuildAssetsWindow.

3. On the second step, “Set Mod Name”, Description and put an Image.

4. In the third step, Click “Set Table Data”.



5. Click “Table_Localization”.



6. You can type in a word from the text which you want to change or name/ID of the item, which you want to change, then click “GO”. You can AddNew, create a new key and then change with the key you want.



7. In the end, click SaveData.

Upcoming features and improvements


Hello!

Recently we were working on finalizing the plans on Freeman and came up with a new roadmap:

1. Add gambling
2. Add weather
3. Improve maps
4. Add artillery
5. Improve the camo system
6. Improve stealth mechanics
7. Improve AI
8. Make weapons feel more different
9. Improve SFX
10. Improve UI
11. Add transfer money function for the faction treasury

But it may take a much longer time than usual because most of our guys are on quarantine and stuck in different cities. So we are hoping for your understanding.

Let us know your thoughts and what feature you are waiting for the most in the comments ;)
