I really recommend this one. One of very few aviations films that realistically depict aerial operations.

The recently released The finest hours is pretty good,

The acting is beyond horrible and unrealistic at times but hey, its hollywood, what do they know about real life... For me I still enjoyed it and I think you guys without knowing the real deal will aswell...

Eugene "Gene" Cernan was the last man to walk upon the surface of the Moon. He is one of only 12 human beings to have ever done so. I recommend this movie because its done well and shows a side of the NASA space program rarely, if ever, seen.

At the end of the movie, Cernan says the following: "I often tell young kids, and particularly my grand kids--don't ever count yourself out. You'll never know how good you are unless you try. Dream the impossible and go out an make it happen. I walked on the Moon. What can you do?"

Tigers In The Mud The Combat Career Of Otto Carius

An account of a Panzer commander of the Wehrmacht about his experiences.

World War II began with a metallic roar as the German Blitzkrieg raced across Europe, spearheaded by the most dreaded weapon of the 20th century: the Panzer. No German tank better represents that thundering power than the infamous Tiger, and Otto Carius was one of the most successful commanders to ever take a Tiger into battle, destroying well over 150 enemy tanks during his incredible career.

I used to watch and enjoy very much a TV series called "Ba Ba Black Sheep" when I was a kid.  I still get chicken skin when I hear the intro melody  :)

The proto also did "James West" if you all remember.

I guess this is where my passion for aviation came from and my love for the F4U Corsair.

Hogans Heroes (great laugh)

Apart from having most of the classic titles mentioned here in my DVD bookshelf, here are just some of my faveīs...

- The hunt of Red October (seen it so many times and love Sean Connery, as a actor mind you  :D)

- The thin red line

- Blachawk Down

- Band of Brothers (Excelent)

- Stanlingrad (the original)

- A Bridge to Far

- K-19 The Widowmaker

and some more I just canīt remember now cuz I moved to a new place and some of the stuff is still in my old house.

Same with books that I donīt have here yet...

- Vipers in the Storm (excelent)
https://www.amazon.com/Vipers-Storm-Diary-Fighter-Pilot/dp/0071400400

- The battle of Stalingrad (shame I donīt remember the author, as there are many).

- D-Day (same, canīt remember author).

- Band of Brothers.

- K-19 The Widowmaker (excelent)

I hope it all brings nice memories to some of you  :)

I've got rerun  "Rat Patrol" on Vegas TV. Watching now(watched as a kid) with a critical eye, it's hard to digest some of the action. Two jeeps being fired upon by tanks, machine guns mounted on armored personnel carries. They would have been buried in the desert after the third episode. But the series lasted a good while.
