Since we're on the topic of the Spitfire, I thought I'did share this hour-long documentary.

Spitfire

I enjoyed watching this because it goes beyond showing you the history and the many variants of the plane. More than that, it shows you how the plane was created, with detailed ground crew maintenance procedures. There is even a detailed startup procedure with close-ups of the switches and gauges. You will also learn how the gunsight is operated by the pilot. Contains many narration-less and music-less sequences where it just focuses on the beauty of the Spitfire in flight. Plus the joy of heating the roar of the Merlin and Griffin engines!

If you have DCS Spitfire, this documentary will be an added joy.

Diorama As You Have Never Seen Before by Diorama Master Lee Won-Hui

I've seen dioramas before, but NEVER LIKE THIS!

How can I describe Lee Won-Hui after seeing him raise dioramas to a new height of art form?

Very talented young man. I've seen Korean artistry first-hand and have always been impressed with their talent and ingenuity.

They Shall Not Grow Old

How not to be in awe of what Peter Jackson and his team have done with technology? This is all about enriching culture, history and keeping memories alive before they are gone for good.

How does a powerful computer fill in missing frames within a 100-year old film, and in so doing, produce realistic timing? How do you lip read a soldier's lips with accuracy? How does one reproduce the sounds of the war of a bygone era?

A truly striking example of how technology can be used to enrich history for all present and future generations.

Cheers

The basic assumptiom for this project was, that for generations of the digital age, it was hard to recognize the content of such old recordings as part of their own people´s history. The highly felt distance is caused on the old (like foreign) technique of black ´n white pictures and winamp speed of the movies. Last but not least, as Frankie described, the missing sounds completed the impression of alienation. All that can be considered to be suitable enough to undermine empathy, because it suggested more the presentation of a different mankind than the one of our ancestors.

The excellent transformation to coloured pictures, natural movement and the artificial generation of corresponding noise gives younger generations a better opportunity to identify with their forefathers and to better feel empathy in view of their tragedy facing daily death of industrial warfare.

Who we were

“We were the ones who knew but did not understand, well informed but without insight, overloaded with factual data but poor in experience and wisdom. So we went, not stopped by ourselves."

Black Mirror is a British science fiction anthology television series created by Charlie Brooker, with Brooker and Annabel Jones serving as the programmer show runners. It examines modern society, particularly with regard to the unanticipated consequences of new technologies.

I love it, i mean it could be possible some of the things talked about and how wrong it could go.
I also enjoy the Easter eggs that are placed in every episode.
e.g. Who knows what love is (Will under stand) is play in various forms throughout.

If you go to "Black Museum"  loads in that episode of stuff we haven't seen yet but you see later on in episodes after.

1. Drone Bee from "Hated in the nation"
2. the bath tub from " The Crocodile"
3. Tablet from "Arkangel"
4. The mention of death and be uploaded to the cloud "San Junipero" also the first floor on the hospital is called "San Junipero"
5. The spooky hallway looks like that of "Playtest" house
6. The rats used for the pain experiment were called Kenny and Hector, the main characters from, "Shut up and dance"
7. The lollipop holding the boy's DNA from the episode "USS Callister" is an exhibit in the museum
8. There is this visual reference to Season 1's "15 Million Merits" from this comic cover.
9. The mugshot of Victoria (Lenora Crichlow) from "White Bear"
10. Carlton Bloom, who fooled Michael Callow (Rory Kinnear) in "The National Anthem", could be the body hanged in the background in

this is a great book about the conquer of the fortress of Eben Emael in Belgium. Is full of description of Fallschirmjäger's tactics, weapons, and the action itself.

The book is in italian but I think you can find in english too
