Military Outpost Archers and more Outpost Tweaks (0.25.6.1)
19 APR @ 1:32PM - LIFE IS FEUDAL (BOBIK)

With the current patch, we provide significant tweaks in order to make sieging actions using Military Outposts more adequate and logical. Oh, we’ve also added the first combat NPCs (archers) that will help you to protect your Military Outposts! We will be evaluating how these new NPCs work out and based on the results we might increase the NPC presence in the game even further (both natives and guards).

We’ve implemented a couple of siege mechanic tweaks to prevent proxy guild sieges and fix some other siege related imbalances.

Patch Notes (ver. 0.25.6.1):

New Features and Tweaks:
•   Implemented archers in the Military Outposts. The amount of archers and their combat effectiveness depends on the number and quality of the slaves put into the Military Outpost. Archers are not designed to protect an outpost by themselves but they will provide a good addition to the live player-defenders firepower. Archers shoot only players that do not have “Can enter” access rights set to them - make sure to give these rights to your allies!
•   Implemented another protective measure for game client files. A full force protection system is planned in the next upcoming patches.
•   Fog is significantly reduced in certain types of weather.
•   "Claim Outpost" ability duration increased from 10 to 20 seconds.
•   "Stop Outpost Claiming" ability duration increased from 20 to 40 seconds.
•   "Claim Outpost" can now be used only by members of the guild that have initiated a Holy Judgment on this nearby outpost (the guild who made the targeted outpost vulnerable).
•   Military Outposts now give a LOT of property score to the guild owning them. This means any guild with a Military Outpost can expect to have at least Rank V.
•   Holy Judgment can now only be initiated on Military Outposts lvl 3 that can be placed anywhere or other types of lvl3 outposts that are neighboring to the owner’s Guild Monument
•   Your guild must have a Tier 3 or Tier 4 Monument in order to be able to initiate a Holy Judgment on outposts
•   Claiming ability cooldown is ignored on the outposts that are burning with Holy Judgment. That means that failed claiming attempts will not make these outposts unclaimable for the whole duration of the Holy Judgment.
•   NPC collisions are ignored during new construction and upgrades to buildings. This should no longer prevent the outposts and other buildings from being upgraded/constructed.
•   Amate-Maksha and Rob the Shoveler give significantly more points for the experience sacrifices to them
•   Updated Church and Wooden Gate models so they can no longer be climbed on
•   Added decorative shield premium decorations
•   Removed the possibility of getting polished gems while mining - only rough or raw gems can now be dropped while performing mining abilities
•   Removed regional granite from the game
•   Added a proper message if an outpost upgrade cooldown is active and if your outposts limit is reached
•   Added a proper message if trying to issue an IB while standing on your own province
•   Added Believer's Cooking Pot into Premium Shop
•   Removed doors on Trading Post outposts (now it is more similar to all the other outposts)
•   Tweaked the behavior of wild animals — now they should be slightly easier to tame and to kill
•   Switching between different trading posts is no longer available from the market
•   Added proper support of claim rules and unmovable objects' rules for all non-guild characters (as requested by players who wanted to give full access to their trading posts)
•   Changed behavior and attributes of most wild animals - all animals were slightly slowed down, damage was increased, HP were reduced:

Aurochs Bull: HP 250 -> 200, lays down at low HP;
Aurochs Cow: HP 180 -> 150, doesn't run away if you don't damage it;
Bear: HP didn't change (450), doesn't run away at low HP anymore;
Boar: HP 200 -> 120, lays down at low HP;
Deer: HP 200 -> 150, behavior didn't change;
Grouse: HP 15 -> 10, behavior didn't change;
Hare: HP 15 -> 10, behavior didn't change;
Hind: HP 120 -> 100, behavior didn't change;
Moose: HP 300 -> 180, behavior didn't change;
Mutton: HP didn't change (100), now attacks the character (!), lays down at low HP;
Sow: HP 80 -> 50, doesn't run away if you don't damage it;
Wild Horse: HP 180 -> 120, now attacks the character after receiving several hits on it, lays down at low HP;
Wolf: HP 150 -> 80, doesn't run away at low HP anymore;

Bug Fixes and Optimizations:
•   Fixed item delivery system via trading posts
•   Slightly tuned lags compensation algorithm in a favor of non lagging players
•   Animation glitch that appeared after players dismount is fixed now
•   Optimized internal algorithms of player skill calculations
•   Fixed a bug that would cause no unprocessed gems to be dropped in a couple of regions on the Godenland
•   Fixed a couple of rare bugs with remote outpost support payments
•   Fixed IB maps that had their respawns outside of the active battle zone. That caused inability of players on those respawns to act and participate in the battle and major IB lags.
•   Fixed hotbar hotkey captions
•   Fixed the bug that resulted in unavailability of Slaughter button in coops, barns and stables
•   Fixed inability to jump into Trade post closed off section for male characters
•   Fixed gathering in Native Camps and Starting villages on Godenland - now you can properly gather on them
•   Added back the warning displayed when using Decorator's Kits
•   Fixed a bug that sometimes caused players to automatically switch from first-person view to third-person view

Combat and Siege Changes (0.25.9.0)
26.04.2019

In this current patch, we are releasing a new wave of combat and siege related tweaks. Let’s see how it goes!

Patch Notes (ver. 0.25.9.0):

New Features and Tweaks:
•   Lvl 3 Outpost that has a Holy Judgment active will not only lose one level but will also be transferred completely to the guild that has successfully claimed it. It is done to give a chance for the defenders to strike back and capture the outpost.

---Combat patch---
•   Successful parry against a normal attack stuns attacker for 0.5 sec and removes 20 Soft Stamina
•   Slashing damage will be doubled now if you hit a body part with a slashing protection coefficient less than 0.09
•   If softStamina ends a character does not change its state to a Fatigued state. Instead, it receives the Exhausted effect (+sound) for 5 seconds. Under the Exhausted Effect you can't run, operate items, your speed decreases by 30% and you stay in the peaceful stance. You can't climb if you are exhausted and you will fall down if you get exhausted while climbing.
•   Stamina depletion rates depend on the ratio of your equipment weight to the critical weight that your character can carry and can scale between x0.6 to x1.35
•   New mechanics for wounds, bleeding and fracture calculations depends on a weapon’s coefficient and victim's armor effective value. Wounds and fractures inflicted by combos are not affected by this mechanic. There can be no wound or fracture if the inflicted damage was less than 10.
•   Tweaked melee and ranged weapon Fracture and Wound modifiers according to the new mechanics
•   Duration of all wounds and fractures regardless of body part now lasts for 30 mins
•   Duration of bleeding increased from 1 to 2 minutes, basic damage inflicted to softHP per second decreased from 0.05 to 0.03
•   The Treat abilities(Wounds, Fractures and Severe Injuries) now fully use luck(like other abilities) to decrease the duration of the rest effect by 20%
•   Treat Patient now restores from 20% of maximum hardHP and doesn’t require bandages anymore
•   Basic duration of wounds and fracture Bed Rest effect now depends on both the real skill level and bandage quality level and varies from 0.36 (level=30, q=30) to 0.15(level=100, q=100) of injury time left at the moment of the healing
•   Coward! and You are Mine! abilities changed detection mechanics from raycasting to sector-search. The closest non-Friendly player in the 5-degree sector will be marked. Maximum distance is 15 meters.
•   Accelerated effect bonus from Coward! decreased from 0.2 to 0.1
•   The fear effect works in two ways - it decreases shooting accuracy and gives a chance to fall down if the character runs. If the character falls down from Fear - Fear effect disappears. Skill level now affects only duration 15(60) to 25 (100) seconds
•   Coward! can be used against players that are not in a warstance. Coward! can be applied only on the character looking opposite side from the cryer.

•   Jewelry that is equipped on the player will now get durability hits with every ability used, successful melee blow and projectile shot (arrows, bolts, throwable, and trebuchet)
•   You can't invite a player to barter while they are in warstance. No more inconvenient trade invites!
•   Defensive Fence requires the Medium Warfare Kit and informs the player if he lacks this ingredient in his inventory
•   /stuck command can now be used if you’re in a bug-hole (always sliding) or while you’re mounted
•   The number of minor experience points that are gained from "Sacrifice" (support points) ability has decreased towards ~25,000 minor experience per 1 Gold Coin

Bug Fixes and Optimizations:
•   Holy Judgment fiefs now have equal ability rules as common JH fiefs. So everything you can do on fiefs during the JH can now be done during Holy Judgment too
•   Animal quality raise probability is fixed now and should be more adequate now
•   Fixed several issues with the Trade Post delivery feature
•   Several bug fixes related to the Private Claim placement in different circumstances
•   A bunch of internal code optimizations and bugfixes
•   Removed a couple more IB spawn points on some maps that would cause players to appear on those to be bugged
•   Fixed some object state updates that could lead to the incorrect visuals (for instance you saw lvl1 outpost, while in fact, it was lvl 2 outpost under upgrade).
•   Fixed a bug where in some situations the experience bar would not fill

Big PvP changes are coming (0.25.20.0)
11 JUN @ 1:56PM - ARRAKIS

After heated discussions on how to best approach the problems with outpost capturing, we’ve decided to implement control points for each Outpost which should resolve most of the exploits related to the outpost claiming. We’re also giving you the ability to manually collapse mines and adding fixes for trading as a dessert. Oh, and one more thing — we’ve tweaked lag compensation based on the feedback we’ve received.

Patch Notes (ver. 0.25.20.0):

New Features and Tweaks:
•   Added an Outpost Totem — new object that will be placed whenever an outpost is built. Abilities “Initiate a Holy Judgement”, “Claim Outpost” and “Stop Outpost Claiming” are now only available from the Outpost Totem
•   Added coloring to the chat tab with counselor
•   Added “Collapse” and “Break Reinforce” abilities, which can be used inside a mine. Remember: the tile you want to collapse cannot be occupied by any people and/or horses
•   Added new premium clothes — King’s Outfits

Bug Fixes and Optimizations:
•   Fixed the problem that caused items being stuck in the trading post when purchasing with delivery
•   Fixed error preventing orders’ completion from the same trading post they were placed on
•   Deleted textures that were no longer in use from the client folder
•   Fixed a bug that caused chat with counselor to close upon exiting the game
•   Tweaked lag compensation mechanism

Patch Notes (0.25.22.5)
18 Jul @ 1:10pm - Arrakis

Good day, Feudalists!
If you have been around during our last AMA, then you probably know already, that we planned to switch to a new F2P model, that would give even more opportunities for newcomers. And finally, we’re excited to announce that, starting today, every new member of our community shall receive a Ticket to Abella and a 3 days of Premium subscription. We hope that it will bring more new players to the adventures and journeys on Godenland. We also would like to take a moment and say a heartfelt thank you to all our veterans, who were supporting daily, from the begging of LIF history — you guys… are breathtaking. And we will do our best to develop LIF further, improve and extend Feudal experience for all our players!

This week’s patch has been heavily influenced by your suggestions from the last AMA session. Thanks to all the participants, we’ve gathered a decent amount of information to use in order to improve the experience our game brings to you.

Here’s the list of changes:

Patch Notes (ver. 0.25.22.5):

New Features and Tweaks:
•   Game mode switched to a new F2P model — each new user will receive 1 Ticket to Abella and a 3 days of Premium subscription to his Premium shop inventory after registration
•   Added a new object in the Starting Villages — Traveler’s Idol, which allows you to teleport to a guild monument (via Guest Code) or to another village. Each teleport has its’ own cooldown of 48 hours;
•   Knoolls will now randomly spawn in the game world. While you won’t be able to tame them, you can still benefit from such encounters — some folks say their treasures are valued by the Crown…;
•   Significantly reduced the time it takes to level up the skills after level 90
•   Increased the drop value of loot from natives in their villages
•   Randomized starting servers on Newbie world
•   Alchemist’s Outfit has been renamed to Herbalist’s Outfit. Required skill is now Herbalism lvl 60 (instead of Alchemy lvl 60)
•   Cook’s Outfit is now available on Farming lvl 60 (instead of Cooking lvl 60)
•   Engineer’s Outfit is now available on Construction lvl 60 (instead of Warfare Engineering lvl 60)
•   Outfits now grant bonus to every skill on the skill branch they’re used by (for example, Blacksmith’s Outfit now will give bonus not just to Forging, but also to Kilning, Armorsmithing and Weaponsmithing). They will now also grant an “Inspired Work” effect
•   Increased the production rate for most of the outposts
•   Significantly increased the chance of a quality raise for domestic animals and grown crops
•   Decreased the amount of time required to cast most of the abilities. Here’s the list of those that remained untouched.
•   Increased the default Trading Post container size to 150 stones;
•   Increased the amount of ammunition and potions that can be brought onto the Arena

Bug Fixes and Optimizations:
•   Fixed the visual bug in Decorated Rags skins that caused the disappearance of a part of a leg on the female characters
•   Fixed the issue with being able to target objects through the walls while running. Opening containers and interacting with outpost totems through the walls should no longer be possible.
•   Fixed an incorrect amount of experience gained when hitting a training dummy with a ranged weapon
•   Fixed the outpost totems: they can no longer be pushed by placing a movable object near them or grant experience when being hit
•   Fixed the incorrect Sun’s position: now it should point exactly towards South at noon.

Patch Notes (0.25.23.0)
30 Jul @ 11:30am - Arrakis

Hello, Feudalists!

This week we happily continue with this streak of updates based on the feedback we gathered on AMA. Сurrent patch is focused mostly on your suggestions about farming and crafting.

First of all, we’ve added awaited Stonecutter’s and Breeder’s Outfits that we revealed in the devblog last week. Several important tweaks & fixes in this update are related to the crafting speed, farming nuances (such as horse training time and pigs pregnancy issues) and the auto-repeat for the alchemy crafting. Also, according to your numerous requests, we have significantly decreased resistance of the Palisade and several other wooden walls.

We have decided to make patch notes more informative, so from this point forward we will provide more detailed explanations of the tweaks, fixes and other changes we've made. Hope you like it!

Patch Notes (ver. 0.25.23.0):

New features and tweaks:
•   Added new working outfits for Hunting and Mining skill trees. Now, the two remaining skill branches have their outfits as well. As you may have noticed, the mechanics of working outfits were changed with the previous update. Our plan for the outfits was to slightly nerf the amount of bonus skill value they give while making them much more accessible.
•   Palisade walls and several other wooden walls have their resistance decreased from 400 to 150. We've received several reports that cost-effectiveness of a wooden wall is way too high compared to other wall types. As a solution, the price will remain unchanged, but the damage resistance of these fortifications will be much lower, which will make them easier to destroy. The resistances of other defensive walls remain unchanged for now
•   Reduced the time required to heat up items for smelting and brewing, which should now take half the time.
•   Reduced the maximum time of horse training from 300 seconds to 180 seconds
•   Alchemical craft can now be set to auto-repeat
•   Doubled the capacity of containers for food and water in all animal husbandry buildings, except Large Stables. We keep on with the craft updates to reduce the amount of time such mundane tasks take in favor of a proper PvE action.
•   Time consumption of abilities "Build primitive construction", "Build construction" and "Build complex construction" have been returned to their previous settings. Our intentions behind the abilities time upgrade were to speed up the PvE activities in general. Paving and building, however, affects PvP as well, which is why we've decided to take a slightly different approach with them.

Bug fixes and optimizations:
•   Pregnant pigs should now give birth before growing old
•   Outpost totems should now be placed correctly for every level of an outpost
•   Fixed (again) the inability to build or upgrade a Trading Post that could occur under certain circumstances
•   Fixed the speed of emotions' animations. They should no longer end prematurely
•   Fixed the lack of alchemical ingredients drop when slaughtering a domestic animal
•   Fixed a bug that allowed production of items with quality higher than 100

Patch Notes (0.25.24.0)
22 Aug @ 10:43am - Arrakis

Good day, Feudalists!

This week brings you a “Breeders’ Update” - a bunch of tweaks and fixes very much awaited by our dedicated cattleman and suggested by the community at the latest AMA session. You may expect rework of luck for warhorse training, an update of the graphical user interface for stables as well as other breeders’ buildings and more! Also, this update will include the much-awaited fix for the issue with the inability to select objects in certain areas of outposts. Check the details in the patch notes below:

Patch Notes (ver. 0.25.24.0):

New Features and Tweaks:

•   Added water consumption level to Animal Husbandry GUI. Dung-o-meter now shows the exact amount of items to be received when cleaning the stables
Developer’s comment: this addition was needed for a while now to ease the understanding of the mechanics behind the Animal Lore skill. We plan on adjusting other interfaces as well to make them more informative, especially for the new players.

•   Decreased the time required to complete horse training
Developer’s comment: with the previous patch we’ve decreased the maximum time for warhorse training, but left out the actual time it takes to complete the training. We’ve caught up on that now.

•   Reworked Luck influence on Warhorse Training skill. Now, it will give a chance to have the training sped up by 20%.100 Warhorse Training gives a +10 Luck bonus when training a horse.
Developer’s comment: luck had no effect on Warhorse Training for a while now. We’ve decided to bring it up in line with other skills where luck gives a bonus to the time it takes to perform an ability.

•   Removed getting poisons from random events
Developer’s comment: we’ve decided that balance-wise giving such item through a random event is rather questionable.

•   Added new premium skins for Breeder’s and Stonecutter’s Outfits

Bug Fixes and Optimizations:
•   Optimized tunnel maintenance
•   Fixed a bug that prevented interactions with objects placed in certain areas of the outposts
•   Fixed Fief Fire’s disappearance when approaching an outpost
•   Fixed an issue with the horse age not being stored properly after using “Leave Horse” ability
•   Fixed an issue that prevented stables from being fully occupied by animals and loaded with supplies for them
•   Fixed a bug with durability calculation for items received in the result of a random event

Patch Notes (0.25.25.0)
Thu, 19 September 2019

Hello, Feudalists!
Our focus lately has been an investigation of the pesky problems that have been around and caused a lot of annoyance to you, our players, and to us as well. Finally, after some tough bug smashing, we are happy with the results and would like to share them with you.

Patch Notes (ver. 0.25.25.0):

New Features and Tweaks:
•   Abilities “Rename” and “Manage object rights” were enabled for Sanctum of the Sleeper, Stonemason’s Workplace, Ore Washer and Big Tanning Tub
      Developer’s comment: this is more of a bugfix, really. The intention was to give control over all buildings that have abilities assigned to them
•   “Repair” ability is now available for Idols
      Developer’s comment: while this is a minor change, it’s a part of a bigger fix
•   New premium Healer’s Standard has been added

Bug Fixes and Optimizations:
•   Fixed the cause of recent server stability issues
•   Fixed splitting items in stacks controller — you no longer need to hit Enter after inputting the number of items in the stack manually to confirm the change before pressing OK
•   Fixed the bug that prevented interactions with Hardwood/Softwood logs and Siege ladders in certain situations
•   Fixed the Outpost Totem model scaling. That should prevent the ability to interact with the totem while standing on a second floor of Military Outposts
•   Fixed auto sorting for premium chests
•   Fixed the bug that prevented sacrificing young animals to Kallente

Trials by the World (0.25.29.0)
28.11.2019

Hello, Feudalists!

Today, we’re bringing you some experimental changes. We want to see how well are they going to bode into the current gameplay meta before settling on on them for good. This means we’re gonna need your feedback to see how you feel about those changes!

And now, for the full list of updates:

Patch Notes (ver. 0.25.29.0):

New Features and Tweaks:
•   /stuck command has been disabled
•   Developer’s comment: With the climbing system implemented, it seems that this command gives more abusing power than it does help in-game. We want to see whether it’s worth it to keep it in the game or not.
•   Only one shield can be equipped by a player
•   Developer’s comment: The double-tower-shield turtling is something that, in our opinion, favors one gameplay style over the others. We intend to fix that with this change.
•   Damage resist of wooden walls has been decreased from 150 to 130
•   Blast damage from a sapper charge has been increased
•   Developer’s comment: Wooden walls should not provide such strong protection against sapper charges, as they do now. Those updates will work in pair to fix that.
•   An NPC to commemorate Dannara Stella has been added to Zathum-Zar starting village
•   Developer’s comment: We wrote about the loss of our player a couple of dev blogs back. Now we’re bringing her to the game as an NPC, so that her friends could have a way to remember her any time they log in.

Bug Fixes and Optimizations:
•   Lag compensation system has been tweaked
   o   Developer’s comment: We’re aiming to bring a more enjoyable in-game combat with this change, so let us know how it works for you
•   Added ability to mass-produce to most of the crafting recipes
•   Updated translations for the following languages:
   o   Czech
   o   German
   o   Hungarian
   o   Italian
   o   Polish
   o   Portuguese

Patch Notes (0.25.30.0)
Hello, Feudalists!

After a considerate discussion based on your feedback, we’re bringing changes to the last update. Thank you all for providing us with detailed information on how these modifications influenced your gameplay!

Patch Notes (ver. 0.25.30.0):

New Features and Tweaks:
•   /stuck command is available, but with modifications that should restrict its usage to the cases where it is actually needed
  o   Developer’s comment: we’re hoping that now /stuck will get you out of a situation where your character cannot move while not having any effect outside of such cases.
•   Destroying a monument now starts a week-long cooldown on the fief where it was placed before. Any monuments’ placement is forbidden there while the timer is active
  o   Developer’s comment: a lot of complaints were based upon the fact that some guilds are able to bring down the monument and rebuild it again to avoid the Judgement Hours. Now, a destroyed monument will mean a lost fief — until you can take it back. And to clarify: this cooldown does not trigger when building an outpost in said fief.
•   A fief won’t get transferred as a result of a lost IB if it has been captured by another guild before the battle starts
  o   Developer’s comment: the previous behavior for this situation was not intended by us. This is more of a fix, really.
•   Christmas decorations were added to the trader carts and to all villages
  o   Developer’s comment: and some of them might have something to say.

Bug Fixes and Optimizations:
•   Implemented a system that should prevent arenas’ failure to start
