The Italian Army recently conducted a federated and distributed V-JFX-CAX Vocational Exercise ( Virtual Joint Fire Exercise - Computer Assisted Exercise) called "Medusa 2017" using VBS3. Conclusa l'esercitazione “Medusa 2017"

I soldati si addestrano in uno scenario operativo "Virtual" condiviso, utilizzando nuovi e interoperabili sistemi di simulazione.

Si è conclusa oggi, alla presenza del Capo di Stato Maggiore dell'Esercito, Generale di Corpo d'Armata Danilo Errico e dei Comandanti dei Comandi di vertice e Alti Comandi della Forza Armata, l'esercitazione di tipo V-JFX-CAX (Virtual Joint Fire Exercise - Computer Assisted Exercise) denominata "Medusa 2017".
             
L'evento ha avuto lo scopo di condurre un' esercitazione federata e distribuita fra enti, distanti tra loro e collegati in rete, in uno scenario virtuale condiviso, verificando le procedure tecnico-tattiche richieste dalle diverse situazioni operative e la corretta interoperabilità dei sistemi di simulazione e di Comando e Controllo (C2).
 
Le autorità militari presenti all'evento, ricevute dal Comandante dei Supporti, Generale di Corpo d'Armata Amedeo Sperotto, e dal Comandante dell'Artiglieria e Ispettore dell'Arma di Artiglieria, Generale di Brigata Fabio Giambartolomei, hanno potuto apprezzare le potenzialità dei sistemi di simulazione Virtual.
 
L'esercitazione, organizzata e coordinata dal Centro Fires Targeting & Infoops del Comando di Artiglieria, è stata svolta in collaborazione con la Scuola Sottufficiali dell'Esercito, la Scuola di Fanteria, il Comando Aviazione dell'Esercito, il Comando Genio – Centro di Eccellenza CIED e il Centro Simulazione e Validazione dell'Esercito.
 
A conclusione dell'attività, il Capo di Stato Maggiore dell'Esercito si è complimentato con il personale esercitato per gli ottimi risultati raggiunti nel campo della simulazione, oggi sempre più attagliato e aderente alla realtà. Il Generale Errico ha poi sottolineato l'importanza dello sviluppo nell'ambito della simulazione, per fornire al soldato la necessaria preparazione per affrontare le mutevoli situazioni operative.
 
La simulazione Virtual, rappresenta uno degli aspetti fondamentali per soddisfare l'attuale necessità di sviluppare un modello addestrativo adeguato alle mutate esigenze di approntamento delle forze.

Completed the "Medusa 2017" exercise (translated)

Soldiers are trained in a shared virtual operating scenario, using new and interoperable simulation systems.

Army Chief General Staff Danilo Errico and Commanders of Supreme Command and High Command of the Armed Forces ended today with the V-JFX-CAX (Virtual Joint Fire Exercise - Computer Assisted Exercise) called "Medusa 2017".
             
The purpose of the event was to conduct a federated and distributed exercise between organizations, networked and remote, in a shared virtual scenario, verifying the technical-tactical procedures required by the different operational situations and the correct interoperability of simulation and command and control (C2).
 
The military authorities present at the event, received by the Commander of the Supporters, Armed Forces General Amedeo Sperotto, and the Artillery Armistice Commander, Brigadier General Fabio Giambartolomei, were able to appreciate the potential of the systems of Virtual Simulation.
 
The exercise, organized and co-ordinated by the Artillery Command Center Fires Targeting & Infoops, was carried out in collaboration with the Army Non-Official School, Infantry School, Army Aviation Command, Genio Command - Center of Excellence CIED and the Army Simulation and Validation Center.
 
At the end of the activity, the Chief of Staff of the Army complimented the staff exercised for the excellent results achieved in the field of simulation, now more and more attached and adhering to reality. General Errico then underlined the importance of development in simulation, to provide the soldier with the necessary preparation to deal with changing operational situations.
 
The Virtual Simulation is one of the key aspects to meet the current need to develop a training model that is geared to changing needs for strength training.
