The Bridge by TankHunter

1)   SITUATION:
a)   Enemy:
Enemy forces are trying to delay / stall our advance and are falling back. The enemy in your sector consists of an overstrength platoon and are apparently prepping the bridge for demo. Enemy forces are using Soviet style equipment and there is the possibility that there are enemy screening forces in the area.

b)   Own:
Blue has been advancing against enemy forces since the morning. Friendly forces to the west have reached the small river to your south and have been stopped by a blown bridge there. Your forces consist of an M2A2 platoon (in game you have 4x rifle teams, 3x Javalin teams and 1x MMG).

c)   Attachments and detachments: One section of mortars.

2)   MISSION:
Conduct an opposed bridge crossing before enemy forces can destroy the bridge. It is important for the bridge to be captured intact. The rest of the company is busy with replenishment after the engagements from earlier today.

3)   EXECUTION:
You are to assault enemy forces preping the bridge for demo and destroy them. They are being overwatched by at least a force equal in size to your own. Once you take the bridge you are to advance towards PL Packer and hold there for the rest of the force to catch up.

Well, we got delayed 10 minutes, then sat waiting 15 minutes because I thought Oleg had asked for 1/1/B. I COed, after 1/1B was destroyed, Lusik COed, then after 4/1/B was destroyed, I COed again. Beef and I were multi-crew in an M2A2 Brad with dismounts. He was the gunner and I the commander. We met our demise by an AT missile.
