The objective was to defend the forest. The allies had other plansWe started on the objective in the NE of the map. Remember we had full fog of war so the maps we had showed no friendly or enemy units. We did not know where the enemy started. I ordered Colbert to go south to recon and screen. If he met the enemy then he would report while blocking. Fabian was to travel westwards to break from the forest. He would watch and guard that flank. I would support them both with my artillery and cavalry.
Colbert headed south and kept goingThe enemy were spotted at Thyle. He reported back to me as planned. Notice the enemy had slit into 3! We could not see the enemy in the south or west at this point.I sent my cavalry to aid Colbert. I would sit on his right. Colbert made a great move here. He withdrew north of the river. He used it as a defence.I rode to Colberts location. My cavalry were lined up behind his men, on the hill. On my way there I spotted enemy in the west!. I sent orders to Fabian to prepare. I also sent my artillery to a hill top. It would pound the enemy in itsrear/flank when it attacked Fabian. We were unaware of the enemy moving from the south! My artillery lined up as I wanted (Hey Jason ). Notice the enemy in the SW.I decided to move my cavalry from the objective. The majority of it would flank the enemy facing Fabian while a small contingent would aid him on his left. In the south Colbert was holding the line. I sent my cavalry to smash into the enemy horsemen. I pushed them back.In the South the enemy cavalry were surprised by our cavalry charge. Colbert saw his chance and crossed the river to press the enemy! Notice the enemy in the west. We still could not see them. In the North, Fabian was doing well. He beat back the enemy.Fabian and I defeated the majority of enemy in the north with a combination of infantry and cavalry charges. Not forgetting the artillery. In the south Colbert had pushed back the enemy. They were looking uncertain. It looked good. A little to good. Something was coming.Fabian spotted the fresh enemy contingent to the north. Which way would they go? South into our forces, who were starting to tire. Would they carry on east and onto the objective? I recalled all of our troops in the south. They marched straight for the objective. Would they get there in time? The enemies plan was clear. They meant to take the objective. They had fresh troops. We had tired troops. We had been victorious so far so we had high morale. We started to face off!The battle ended because we hit the hard limit we had set for 2.5 hours. What would have happened?ResultsNotice the losses!
