Steel Beasts In The Brazilian Army

The article has Google Translate built into it. Amazingly, they're still using Steel Beasts Pro version 2.552, from 2011. Considering that Brazil recently picked up the RBS70 MANPADS, and considering that they're using the M60A3 (TTS), maybe they'll be upgrading to version 4.0 soon.

Maybe they are waiting for eSims to upgrade  :lol

As you know, commercial users are slow in upgrading for reasons such as stability.

Brazil also uses VBS http://dogsofwarvu.com/forum/index.php?topic=4994.0

Thanks for posting Rinix  :thumbsup

Military clients may be slow in upgrading, but this is the oldest version of Steel Beasts I've heard of running in current use. Back in February 2016, when the latest version was 3.028, Ssnake said that 3 branches of 3.x were being operated by military clients: 3.1, 3.2, and the latest version 3.3. That means that at least 2 militaries were running a relatively new version of Steel Beasts, and at least 1 was running the latest version.

I casually did a search for "Steel Beasts" on the site. I came up with these links. To read an article, go ahead, click on an image!

Virtual tactical simulation in military education and training - July 2017

5th RCC participates in Exercise with Virtual Simulation - June 2017

CIBld - Visit of the Commander of the Southern Military Command - August 2014

CIBld - Virtual Simulation Tactical Training Exercise (EATSV) - July 2014

The simulation of combat in the training of the Brazilian Army - July 2013

And there are other articles with mention of Steel Beasts. Too many to list here. :-)

Thanks, Frankie. In the second link that you posted, the computer cases are Corsair Carbide SPEC-02s, so their computers are from 2014.

The latest article to mention Steel Beasts in the Brazilian Army. Judging by one of the images, they're using the Leopard 1A5-DK-1 in Steel Beasts. The Brazilian Army does use the Leopard 1.
