Mission Summary :

Battalion scouts have identified a hole in the lines of the Donovian Military Forces. Penetrate this line and attack North to seize key terrain in three key objectives (use dismounts to clear specified buildings)

Excerpts of the battalion commander's (HAVOC 6) orders for...BLUEFOR (D.O.W.)

1) SITUATION:

Spring 2015

Donovian forces have taken an area of Mercia after a long dispute that has been going on between these two countries for decades. HAVOC Task force of German 93 Armoured Battalion  participated in an combiner force exercise in Mercia but since the situation turned hot it was moved to the border. Our task is to support Marcin forces offensive clear 3 towns which will be referred to as Objective Bull, Lynx and Fox.

a) Enemy:
Donovian Military Forces consisting of a understrength Battalion of Mechanised modern forces with Russian equipment, have control of the area securing three major objectives in sector. Reports indicate that they are equipped with Czech made T-72 M4s, which means that we will not have advantage of thermal sights. They have them too.

b) Own:
Task Force HAVOC consist of 1 platoon of Leopard 2A6 tanks and a platoon of Marder IFVs plus support units.

c) Attachments and detachments:

No indirect support in the area apart from the mortar section.

2) MISSION:

Penetrate enemy defensive lines to secure objectives in sector.
 
3) EXECUTION:

At your discretion commander.

4) TERRAIN AND WEATHER:

It's early morning with slight mist but visibility should improve quickly once the temperature rises.

The mission was a partial success. We achieved 2 out of 3 objectives. These T-72M4s put up quite a heavy resistance. We also had a moderate amount of infantry which slowed us down in  the urban areas. Overall, good job considering the circumstances. Thanks!
