Something that kept me bussy on the sunday's for the past few months:

Sometimes things do not go as planned:

The little boat is from a game and will be removed later but just to give an idea:

Bonus, something I made 10 years ago upon request of my parrents when they asked what I would build in place of our current house:

Very cool!

Designing a ship while I have no doubt is a great deal of work just sounds like it would be fun! Of course I dont want to be bothered with trivialities like if it will actually float or not broach in a gale but hey I would have fun! :)

It is serious fun though this is just a visual model. In order for it to be a real ship you need a lot more construction work...

Here is a link to the tender documentation. That is only a concept stage...

http://zakupki.gov.ru/pgz/public/action/orders/info/order_document_list_info/show?source=epz&notificationId=4669551

The name of the ship is Murman. Design name is MPSV06...

This is nearly finnished officers deck
To finish it with the 2nd officers deck I need to make new models...

Also interesting, I found some videos:

My chairs are too fancy: http://murman.tv/news/23687-zadachi-vypolneny-v-port-pripiski-vernulos-avariyno-spasatelnoe-sudno-rosmorrechflota-murman.html

Soo... you got somewhere blueprints of a russian icebreaker? and started to 3D model it as hobby?

I gues you want to see that ship one day in real life as well?

I missed the opportunity 2 years back. She and her Sister ship (I should say He because in german ships are male) where made by Nordic Yards in Wismar Germany. we would have visited together with my student asociation but what happened is that the possible dates we could visit where impossible for us due to exams.

To visit Murmansk or I believe the other one is stationed somewhere in the bering straight is quite a trip...

Nice. Lot of time you have invested  :puter

You could say that... but then again the Sunday has quite a lot of hours...

Progress from last sunday:
This couch took me more than 5 hours:

But its worth it:

Then I noticed something:

That litle table is not a table. It is supposed to be a minifridge. All the officers have a minifridge. So does the hospital for some medicine.
Usualy only the officers have cola or things like that... If I was there with the Classification Society we would usualy get cola out the captains private stash...

So I made a minifridge:

And this is where I stopped sunday:`

You can see the image is made secconds ago...

And an update with the recent stuff:

All watertight pressure doors in place. Most airlocks now have doors on both end of the airlock

Yes this thing has airlocks

Made the exterior walls of the superstructure quickly
Just to see how it looks

Picture of the real area from where you are looking
Now you can see I made a mistake aswell

Progress of last sunday
Thats most finnished
of the interior

The kitchen
the lift

This room

That equipment room (Dynamic positioning room incase the bridge is burned out)
Are all rooms I can not finish for the moment due to lack of skill or information or a combination of both.
For the rest, the next thing to do is all the staircases
and the entirity of the bridge.

I have most drawings of the bridge equipment
all the VHF's the autopilot, the keyboards,
Heck I even found drawings on the intercom systems

You have put in a lot of work into that drawing. I have made similar and know how long something like this can take.

Thanks for sharing your continual progress with this Don  :cheers

Please include a room that can fit 10-networked gaming PCs so me and my mates can play multiplayer games. You can call the room....the XTreme DOW Room. 64-bit Windows 10 OS only. Please pre-load the PCs with Ship Simulator, ArmA3, Falcon BMS, DCS, X-Plane, P3D and FSX with Tacview, Life is Feudal, Scourge of War, Virtual Battlespace, RC Simulator, Steel Fury: Kharkov 1942, Mius Front, Steel Beasts Pro PE 4.010 and Steel Beasts Pro with Instuctor's console. Oh and don't forget to install DOSBox too. Gaming is such hard work.
