BMS korea flight 14/1/17

BMS 4.33.3 Weekend Flight

Friendly and relaxed session.

The flight will be planned when we begin. This is a relaxed flight, we will take into account the knowledge of whoever shows up when planning the flight. Since there seem to be a lot of technical issues i can't tell exactly what save file we'll use/if we'll start a new one, whatever seems to work for most people is what we'll go with. the mission will most likely be an OCA strike, a DEAD strike or a BARCAP/DCA.

NOTE:
The game will launch @ 16:00GMT on Saturday 14th or later, depends on when players are most avalible (i will update here). please try to arrive a few minutes early.

So this week we finnaly had a proper 4 ship package with bearly any technical difficulties. We have split up to 2 flights: Snake1 is a 2 ship DEAD strike, flowen by Beef as lead and Lusik as wingman. And Stud1 is a 2ship Escort led by me with Pipe as my wingman.
We took off in paiers from Kimpo i belive and headed north while climbing to 25,000 feet, Snake1 took off first with Stud1 flying about 10nm in trail at most, we tried to keep up with snake while climbing and i was worried we'd fall behind but we managed to stay close.
Soon after Snake started fireing off their AGM88's we detected a 2ship Mig21 flight heading straight for us, we've quickly sorted them, and fired 2 AIM120C's, mine missed and Pipe's hit the trail 21 and killed it, by now the 21's were turning to get on snake's tail  and i fired again, this time i hit my mark and the coast was clear again. a little while later i decided our flight should turn around and create some space so we can see the whole picture. we turned left but got into the range of an SA2 site, it launched on Pipe but didn't hit. That was about all the action for Stud, a few minutes later Snake called Winchester and RTB and Stud flight followed, while still near the target area we did hear from AWACS about a 2ship mig29 headed for us from the noethwest, but the were too far away to catch us, i suspect another flight had also engaged them while we were crossing over to friendly territory.
Upon landing rollout the server had kicked Beef for reasons no one knows, but everyone else landed without issue, Snake flight had hit 2xFan Song F radars and one Flat Face radar, they also damaged a Barrecks building, while Stud flight had destroyed 2 Mig21 MF, mission sucssesful for both flights.
And now reading the breif it apears that my first missile shot wasn't registered for some reason, i lost lock shortly after fireing (or trying to...) anyway so i would have missed even if i sucssesfuly launched.

I'm afraid i fergot to take screenshots this time, i did not see anyone fly inverted either... but i did record the whole thing and also captured ACMI, both recordings will be uploaded here in a few days.

i did save the camping file, i also made a copy of it where i planned missions for our squadron and keept it in the air until 7pm in the campaing, but i think now that everything is working it's a good idea to think again of what theater we want to use for the next flights and not just go for the defults. either way, i'll try to setup another flight for next week, and i'll be avelibale for more flights during the week, you can try to catch me on TS or PM me here.

Thanks to all of you for showing up, it was very fun flying with you!

Our escorts did a great job. I just heard on the radio that there were MiG-21s in the area but I did not get any indication on the RWR. Nitai and Pipe were trailing slightly behind us and splashed 2 bandits in a short succession. BMS is at least twice as immersive when it comes to flying realistic strike packages. I have a renewed love in BMS. :)

It was a successful mission, insofar as targets were schwacked and all four of us RTB'd. I still have not idea why after landing the sim ended my flight. It was not a CTD, the sim just forced me from the pit and dropped me to the debrief screen.

Nitai and Pipe did a great job sweeping AAW threats away from us! On the other hand, I'm still VERY rusty and need more hours in the pit. As for multiplayer, my comm procedures are in dire need of polishing. Also, I need to be more aware of my geometry (airspeed, altitude, etc) so my wing man doesn't have to work hard staying with me. Sorry about that Lusik. It's because I'm used to flying single-ship TEs or with an AI wing man.

I hope to be able to fly more often. If possible, I'd like to stay with the current campaign for a little while longer until I better reacquaint myself with this excellent and immersive sim. I highly recommend everyone with BMS to jump on board. Multiplayer is awesome!
