Release of DCS World 2.0.4 with DCS: NEVADA Test and Training Map Extension Pack

Today we will be releasing the next update to DCS World 2.0, version 2.0.4. The primary addition to this update is the inclusion of the Extension Pack for the DCS: NEVADA Test and Training Range map. This extension includes 13 new airfields and several new cities and towns. One of the new airfields is Tonopah Test and Training Range airfield, that was home to the “Red Eagles” flying Russian-developed aircraft and the F-117A “Stealth Fighter” wing. This is a FREE extension pack to owners of the Nevada map. Enjoy!

I finally got around to making a short flight in this last night. The map is relatively small so it no 2 airports are very far apart. I flew from McCarran airport to Tonopah in the Mig21.

1st thing I noticed was everything seemed smoother. I have a fairly stout computer (core i7 4.4mhz 16gig ram & 12gig video card) & I have all DCS video settings at max. Before I would notice micro stutters. This time flying it was smooth as silk. I really need to spend some more time in DCS because I love it but alas the skies of the 40's are calling me.

And it runs with that CPU? That's some optimisation right there

I'm trying to recall if there ever was a computer game (flight sim or otherwise) with two different versions developed/updated at the same time? Certainly none with such a heavy hard-drive footprint. I've been a DCS fan for a long time, and LockOn before that; but this is ridiculous and I won't be installing the Nevada map version until the developers literally get their sh** together. I can only imagine, based upon my current feelings, the number of users will dwindle and any potential new customers will balk at at having to install multiple versions and thus pass this by for something else.

2.x beta
2.xx alpha


I won't buy anything until they have a unified version.

I feel ya beef. I have the HD space to spare & like to fly both areas so I continue to endure...

I was like Asid & vowed to leave it alone until they merged 1.5 & 2.0 but I REALLY wanted to do some desert flying then they had a sale and... well... yeah... LOL
