Downloading maps
« on: March 05, 2015, 09:13:11 PM »
I downloaded roughly over 100 single player missions.  Noticing that a few of them along with others previously downloaded, was missing the height map and couldn't do anything in mission editor or even play.  I looked at the esims folder in Windows for SB and did not find any map folder.

Question: If I create a new folder inside SB Windows folder and download height maps there under "height maps", would that work?  Or is this going to be a massive tech problem that is beyond my laughable computer skills?

This is the location of the maps and related folders

Maps:
Windows 7 & 8
C:\ProgramData\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\maps
Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\maps

Note: There are folders within the maps folder and the appropriate files should be dropped in the correct folder
"*.ter" in the "terrain" folder
"*.hgt" in the "height" folder

Does this answer your question?

I didn't think about searching in the start menu and clicking on esims.  I was going straight into documents, then esims.   :P

Found 131 files in height.  Looks like I need some more to run a few missions.  Perhaps I should just stick with the ones I already have.  I'm still trying to merge missions into esims scenarios  8)

Thanks.  I really need to study on how to use computers  :'(
