Casual DCS flights
« on: October 04, 2016, 01:53:38 PM »
I haven't been too active in flight sims lately and only recently did I get back to DCS after over month's absence. I cannot guarantee it, but I would like to fly some short missions before our regular weekend games. I'm not sure about this weekend as I still have plenty of work but it seems that both Saturday and Sunday will have crappy weather, which means I'll be at home at least.

Longknife has MiG-21 so I'd love to team up for some flying. I have some missions but I will try to find something new. The problem with DCS is that many of the old missions from version 1.2.6 and earlier do not work in 1.5+. I have several of them and they are broken. Unfortunately, I will not have time to make one  so we have to resort to what is available.

If you have any good missions and would like to fly - post here. :)

You know I am always up for flying the Mig!  8)

I am pretty good with the mission editor in DCS & can make any sort of mission we would like to fly. The post I just made was one such mission that I will be posting to the DCS user files soon. Now that it is tested & i know all elements work I just need to add some fluff. I think its pretty good but is kinda hard.

I also have most of the DCS aircraft so would be glad to fly whatever the group wanted.

Good news.  ;D We can help you with testing.  I have most of DCS aircraft but I do not buy more because I have no time fly the ones I've got.  :'(

I prefer the Huey...Yeah I know...Not much for it to do  :'(

Since reconfigured my controls I've become a big fan of choppers in DCS. There will always be something but the problem with the missions I have was a broken troops insertion script. I will try to fix one which has a great Huey part but not earlier than next week.

No official posting. Besides, anyone can join DCS even if missions is in progress, so we just need to bunch up more less around the same time  an fly. :)

I have mig21 but no time  :'(
Another MiG driver.  :) Sometimes I enjoy just flying around for half an hour.

Oh yes, I hope we can do this as I miss flying again  :)

Nothing regarding flight is set-up yet since my recent install of W10, as I want to take it easy and not make the same mistakes as with my last set-up (to many things I didnīt use). Thereīs always a positive side and something always learnt.

I was planning to Install DCS again on my new OS soon so this comes in just great.

There are plenty of things we could do as DOW on DCS but should consider the level each one has, as each module has itīs learning curve and we all donīt have the same modules. For a mission we could set-up a poll to see who has what in order to make life easier for the mission editor. This wil also help the user to apply himself to the aircraft he will be using and be proficient with that aircraft.

Of course we could all pick a flight, but some aircraft will always be in handycap with other beacuse they are from a different era.  This could cause some frustration at first.  It dosenīt mean It canīt be done, it just means the mission editor will have to put more effort on who dose what and aginst what.  We can also bring up Combiend Arms into the act which makeīs things alot more interesting. I also recomended in the past to do some formation flying, not so as a pro team but more as to have fun! Itīs easy to do by following some simple guide lines, you donīt need to know how all the system filght controls work, all you need to know is how to fly, take-off and land.

Either way Iam in for it!

My list of modules:
- A-10C
- Aviojet C101
- Flaming Cliffs 3
- Saber F-86F
- FW 109D
- Black Shark K-50
- SA 342 Gazelle
- Combiend Arms

Care,

Red

How about a close air support mission? Off the top of my head I am thinking take a town. Have a CAP flight, ground attack flight, Helo gunships for close air support, helo slicks for reactionary forces of troops & medivac. I can create mutliple client slots so you can jump around to what you feel like or needs to be flown at a given moment. Something for everyone me thinks.

Hey guys how about a mission where you guys would get warning of a border insult. Unidentified plane coming to your countrys airspace and you would be send to identify this plane. Or planes. A bit like at the beginning of movie called top gun.

I like it. Or just make missions of all the top gun dog fights.

I also suggest a DCS Vendetta mission. Head to head with the same types of aircraft on each side.
