I think that RGW is a great game and very manageable.  I would like to see Ron revisit this game and remake it.

+1

However I do not think that will happen soon due to Ron's real life work schedule.  :(

An interesting thread.  Our intent was to have WWII-Europe be a replacement for RGW.  What is it about RGW East Front scenarios that you like better than WWII-Europe East Front scenarios?

1. German infantry units are 5-5-3 in RGW, and 10-10-3 in WWIIE
2. Maps?
3. Breakthrough attack movement?
4. Or something else?

Thanks for the information. It helps me to make better games.

What I like about RGW is the 3 high stacking.  Three stacking makes calculating the attacks or defense better and more manageable.  That is the only thing I do not like about WWII Europe is the six unit stacking.  I like that you can right click on a unit and choose its action.  RGW strengths of its combat units are not overwhelming big in strength.  It is hard to put together, it is mainly the stacking why I like RGW.

Thanks, Ronster.  I appreciate your honesty.  There is much to be said for the simpler games.  We went with six units in WWII-E to allow for different size units and for certain historical cases where there were many divisions in a single hex (Stalingrad for example).  I could make 3 ground units maximum per hex as an option for WWII-E if enough folks would like to see that.

Ron,  I think that would go a long way in making the WWII manageable in making stacks only three high.  I would like to see if others would chime in on this too.

If it's simple enough, why not just set a stacking limit via the scenario options.
Tick box 3 stack limit, else max 6.
Also maybe historically tough urban areas could have a higher defensive (fortified hex value) if the 3 stack limit is ticked.
Just a thought.
Unrealistic stack limits can be considered a 'gamey' exploit.

Stacking is a tough one.  There were historical cases where stacking was 6 units (e.g. Stalingrad) per hex.
So we had to set it at 6.  However, making it scenario dependent is an option.  Let me think if that would cause unintended consequences.

Thanks,
Ron
